The Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM has a lot to offer. It is water resistant and has a wide angle. With improved image quality, you can use to shoot professional grade photos. It comes with three high-precision aspherical lens elements. The circular aperture delivers a natural background blur when shooting at wider apertures. With this lens, you also get a ring type USM, internal focusing, and new AF algorithms for better autofocusing.
With the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM, you get high quality images with excellent color. This lens does an excellent job of capturing natural colors and reproducing them.
This lens is well constructed and worthy of its L Series designation. The best part is that the lens is lightweight.
The large 82mm filter size is a new feature. High quality filters offer many advantages. The larger end helps to reduce the comfort of holding the lens a little. However, it delivers better image quality and is worth it. The focus and zoom rings are easy to use and the perfect size.
This lens is weather sealed to protect against moisture. The inside of the lens is gasketed, but the filter is needed to completely seal the lens. The lens remains the same size, but the inner barrel expands from 28mm from just 16mm.
Typically Canon L lenses have an 8-blade diaphragm. The Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM only has seven blades. The circular shape of the 16-35 L II's blades help create desirable round-shaped OOF highlights.
The f/2.8 maximum aperture is perfect. It is fast and delivers the desirable results. A variety of lenses add different parameters for shooting wide open. This lens provides exposures that are wide open and can remain the same over the full focal length range.
Anyone looking for a high quality lens will love the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM. It is fast and accurate. The best part is that you can use it to take photos in the rain or underwater. There is a lot to love about the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM.

It may be pricey, but the Canon 16-35mm full-frame lens is well established. What Digital Camera's Canon 16-35mm lens review finds out if it's still worth splashing out for
Proven pedigree
Showing its age slightly
This second version of a 16-35mm zoom lens from Canon features a fast constant aperture of f/2.8, weather sealed construction, virtually silent ultrasonic focusing with full time manual override.
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM was first announced in February of 2007 and replaces first generation 16-35mm f/2.8L lens. Priced at about US$1,400 (as of September 2007) this is fastest as well as the most expensive ultra-wide zoom in Canon's current lens arsenal.
Professional landscape photographer and regular contributor Mark Bauer puts Canon's latest ultra wide-angle zoom to the test I've been shooting with the \LCanon 17-40mm f/4L as my main landscape lens more or less since acquiring my Canon EOS 5D about 18 months ago.
Both the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lenses produce superb images with minimal distortion across a wide range of angles and apertures. Both lenses have excellent central field imaging performance when shot at f/2.8.
The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens is what I consider one of the most important lenses in Canon's lineup . Taking over the ultra-wide angle position of the available professional grade f/2.8 zoom lenses from the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM Lens , the 16-35 L II becomes the new standard for...
The build quality of this lens is basically identical to the EF 17-40mm f/4L - it's exceptionally high just as you would expect it from a Canon L lens. No wobbling whatsoever and smooth controls - almost perfect.
Fab wide angle lens and my "city bashing" lens. You won't miss much with this
Not too heavy for an L lens Good wide angle even on a crop sensor Great image quality Great build quality 2.8 throughout
None to speak of
This super-fast wide-angle zoom could be a real boon for landscapers looking for pin-sharp results in low light. At £1158 it's not cheap – but if you're serious about your photography, this lens will not disappoint.
