The Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM has a lot to offer. It is water resistant and has a wide angle. With improved image quality, you can use to shoot professional grade photos. It comes with three high-precision aspherical lens elements. The circular aperture delivers a natural background blur when shooting at wider apertures. With this lens, you also get a ring type USM, internal focusing, and new AF algorithms for better autofocusing.
With the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM, you get high quality images with excellent color. This lens does an excellent job of capturing natural colors and reproducing them.
This lens is well constructed and worthy of its L Series designation. The best part is that the lens is lightweight.
The large 82mm filter size is a new feature. High quality filters offer many advantages. The larger end helps to reduce the comfort of holding the lens a little. However, it delivers better image quality and is worth it. The focus and zoom rings are easy to use and the perfect size.
This lens is weather sealed to protect against moisture. The inside of the lens is gasketed, but the filter is needed to completely seal the lens. The lens remains the same size, but the inner barrel expands from 28mm from just 16mm.
Typically Canon L lenses have an 8-blade diaphragm. The Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM only has seven blades. The circular shape of the 16-35 L II's blades help create desirable round-shaped OOF highlights.
The f/2.8 maximum aperture is perfect. It is fast and delivers the desirable results. A variety of lenses add different parameters for shooting wide open. This lens provides exposures that are wide open and can remain the same over the full focal length range.
Anyone looking for a high quality lens will love the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM. It is fast and accurate. The best part is that you can use it to take photos in the rain or underwater. There is a lot to love about the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L II USM.

This is a beautiful lens. Fast, quiet and incredibly built. Great for landscapes or large groups at a wedding.
The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM ($1,699 direct) is a 2.2x zoom lens, compatible with both Canon APS-C and full-frame cameras . Even though its zoom range is limited, the change of field of view from 16mm to 35mm is a drastic one.
Ultra-wide field of view; Fixed f/2.8 aperture; Sharp throughout the zoom range
Some distortion; Soft edges at f/2.8.

I got mine before the Mk III came out, but wonder where Canon found room to improve on this one - and for the big price difference. This lens is superb & produces consistently sharp images. A solid build. Im very happy with it, no regrets. And, as usual, perfect service from B&H.
I have several L lenses. They are so heavy and I am paranoid about knocking them out of alignment. I read how much people loved this lens for landscape and interior shots. I bought two used and they were dogs. So I popped for a new one. I am so happy with it.
The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM covers an impressive wide-angle field of view at an f/2.8 aperture, a feat for a prime lens, and delivers the added convenience of a 2x zoom design.
Ultra-wide field of view; Fixed f/2.8 aperture; Sharp throughout the zoom range
Some distortion; Soft edges at f/2.8; Limited zoom range
I've had the 17-40 f4 L for a few years from BuyDig and loved it. I bought the 16-35 f2.8 L II and found that it may have better color correction at the edges and a pleasing color overall which, so far, I do not think is due to diffraction limited blending of contrast.
Easily Interchangeable; Rugged; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction
Blurry Focus
This a great professional lens. It's sharp and has great contrast. It's the perfect compliment to the Canon 24-70mm and 70-200 f2.8 lenses.
Sharp (even wide open at f2.8) Fast Great contrast
None
I bought this lens for the Canon 5DM3 with the purpose of capturing wedding parties. This wide angle is great and you can capture a very wide patch even standing close to the target.
Durable; Strong Construction
Expensive
