This is a fantastic lens. The USM, is super fast and whisper quiet, makes focusing a breeze. I find it especially helpful, as I wear glasses. Regular autofocus is to slow and cumbersome in many situations, and my eyesight is not good enough to be able to focus manually.

I have several L lenses. They are so heavy and I am paranoid about knocking them out of alignment. I read how much people loved this lens for landscape and interior shots. I bought two used and they were dogs. So I popped for a new one. I am so happy with it.
I've had the 17-40 f4 L for a few years from BuyDig and loved it. I bought the 16-35 f2.8 L II and found that it may have better color correction at the edges and a pleasing color overall which, so far, I do not think is due to diffraction limited blending of contrast.

This a great professional lens. It's sharp and has great contrast. It's the perfect compliment to the Canon 24-70mm and 70-200 f2.8 lenses.

Loads of fun on a full frame sensor. F/2.8 makes for a bright viewfinder and great for astrophotography as well in low light settings. Very fast AF, and rather accurate in low light. Excellent construction - weather sealed, smooth and perfect weight.
This is a terrific wide lens that allows you so to have a sharp focus a great background and most important no distortions.
