EXCELLENT LENS, SHARP AND VIIVID PICTURES

This is a handsdown highly recommended lens if you guys are looking for upgrade. I am using Canon 60D cropped lens, I was deciding in either getting the 15-85mm standard lens or the Canon L 14-70mm "L" Lens.

CANON "L" MEANS LUXURY BUT AFFORDABLE PRICE

NOTHING

Affordable L Glass Lens

Great value L glass lens. I got this lens to upgrade from my kit lens for my Canon Rebel T5. Just tested this lens out by taking exhibit hall and cosplay photos at San Diego Comic Con.

Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM review by thubleau

I query some of these reviews because they are not accurate. Lets look at the 17-40 l. I shot a wedding using this lens ona full frame 5D MK2. when i viewed the results on my computer all the group shots were so bad at The 17mm they were unuseable distortion was horrific.

non beware review strapped to an apc sensor

very high distortion at 17mm end overpriced and heavy

I bought this lens while I was away in my Military training, and coming back home to find me a nice looking lens. The condition was mint, although with some scratches as mentioned. I kept it safe and sound in my bag and used it 2 times without any problem. On the 3rd usage, the zoom did not work.

I own this lens for 3 years. It is simply great on crop. Dust and Rain is not a problem. Light weight make it possible for camera to be on your shoulders all the time in bike tours!

Build like a tank; Great lens for travel; You should try hard to broke it! Lowest weight for L lenses; Cool for APS-C

Distortion on full frame; My copy isn't sharp at corners (not a problem on crop

Allot of lens for the money!

I am very satisfied with the quality of all of my Canon "L" lenses, the EF 17-40mm F/4.0 is no exception. I was looking for a wide angle zoom and thought I would rather have the F/2.8 but the price was a factor so I decided to go withe the slower F4.0.

The best ultra wide angle for Canon!

I recently switched from Nikon to Canon and this was my first lens purchased for my 5D Mark II. My decision was made after reading several reviews from websites and blogs. I have to tell you they are all right! This lens takes sharp and vibrant pictures. Good bokeh too, though not the best.

Wedding Photographer's Dream Lens

[...] For weddings and outdoor photography, the focal length of this lens doesn't get any better. I had considered getting a comparable third brand lens (17-50 f2.8), but I ended up having to stop it down to f4 as it was soft wide open.

Consistent Output; Durable; Rugged; Strong Construction

I use to have the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. I sacrificed the f2.8 max aperture for Canon L glass and build quality. I'm glad I did. My past Tamron accumulated much dust over its use and non-Canon lenses have poor resale value.

Weather-resistant construction; Affordable L series lens; Light weight

The lens hood blocks the built in flash in my former Canon 30D

Awesome lens

This lens is well worth the price and I hate paying high prices for things. I would give this lens a 9/10.

Great detail and color in photos really can't ask for more here; I am a novice in the full frame camera world but I have to say this lens does everything I ask of it

Slow focus time and sometimes the lens can't focus at all if what you are looking at lacks enough detail to get the right sharpness; Zoom is very small and basic but decent for close ups
