I was surprised to get an "L" lens at this price. This one definitely deserves the "L" in build and optics. It'd been my go-to lens since I bought it in March. Each lens has its odn personality, and I really like this one. My clients like it too.

Excellent quality lens even with a full frame. I bought this to complement my 35mm F1.4L and my Carl Zeiss 18mm F3.5 Distagon. My 5D mark 3 can correct the aberrations of that lens. If you don't need 2.8 this is the only zoom choice. L quality with not much weight.
this is one of canons top of the range lenses, you cant get any better than this just look for the red ring on the lens barrel and you can tell its a top of the range lens ive had one now for about 2 years and its a permanent fixture on my camera i use it as a Walk-About-Lens works on both full
Awesome Picture Quality; Build Quality; Canon; Fits APS-C; Fits Full Frame; Sharp; TOP OF THE RANGE
Great for landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets - particularly in combination with graduated neutral density filters to balance exposure of land and sky. Amazing for indoor room photos - a must for any Realtor. Superior for architects' pictures of structures.
Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight

Canon understands the underlying inimitability of each photographers creative vision, and thus proffers an exclusive camera lens to vivify their imagination. Each piece from the excellent array of Canon lenses is truly reflective of the signature know-how and craftsmanship associated with Canon.
In the early days of digital SLRs, before the arrival of its smaller-format EF-S lenses, the 17-40mm was one of the mainstays of the Canon range, a super-wideangle zoom for the full-frame EOS 1Ds but also the nearest thing at the time to a ‘standard' zoom for the newer, smaller-format EOS models
The Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM ($839.99 direct) is an ultra-wide to normal zoom lens that is compatible with Canon EOS SLR cameras. When used on a full-frame body, the lens provides an extremely wide 17mm field of view on the wide end with a 2.4x zoom factor that takes it to a normal 40mm field of...
