Mount: Canon | Construction: 13 elements in 10 groups, 8 diaphragm blades | Closest focus distance: 25cm | Filter thread: 77mm | Autofocus: ring-type ultrasonic | Dimensions: 80 x 87mm, 650g This is the mark II edition of this lens and isn't just a minor tweak but represents a complete redesign.

This is the mark II edition of this lens and isn't just a minor tweak but represents a complete redesign. It boasts an extra two elements, taking the total number from 11 to 13, and its more rounded aperture is based on eight rather than seven diaphragm blades.

Quality metal construction; Ring-type autofocus; Wide maximum aperture

Disappointing sharpness; Expensive; Vignetting (corner shading) at maximum aperture

Very good lens

I bought this lens second hand, 2 years old but in excellent condition. I found the focusing to work correctly the majority if the time. I mean majority of the time when you go in and pixel peep at 100%. Large aperture f1.4 lenses will not have 100% accuracy in real life shooting.

Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM

When I first picked up photography, I have always wondered on the viability of spending large amounts of money for a fixed focal prime lens such as this. However, having cycled through quite a few Canon lenses and 'L' series lenses ranging from zoom lenses and other primes, I have arrived in front...

Very wide aperture for taking indoor photos without a flash - Paper thin depth of field at F1.4 provides capability to produce dramatic shots while still capturing much of the background to 'tell the story' - Good quality construction - Price range defini

- Focusing speed a tad slow (but not enough to affect me on wedding photography

Excellent, no compromises

Chose this over a 24-70 f/2.8, for weddings and most everything else. Previously have extensively used a 24-105 f/4 (5D series kit lens) and 24-70 f/2.8, and I currently also have a 24mm tilt-shift. I shoot with a 5D Mark IV (full frame).

You most definitely, absolutely, NEED this lens!

This lens is absolute gold! I use it every single day for vlogging, filming, and photo shoots! The auto focus is amazing and the clarity is unmatched! I highly recommend this lens! I took it to Honduras for 2 weeks and didn't end up using any other lens.

Rugged build & excellent in low light

This lens really works incredibly well in low light, being a wider prime at 24mm, capturing all the scene in landscapes and lifestyle is a breeze, especially when shooting in low light. It is more of a niche focal length, but you know exactly when to use it & its the time it counts.
