Holy bokeh, batman!

This lens is absolutely phenomenal on the 1D X! Super fast to focus, suffers from none of the focus shift I've heard about in the past. Works really well on my 7D, but doesn't have same DOF due to the APS-C sensor.

An expensive lens with really good quality

It is definitely an excellent lens. Sometimes I encounter back focus problem and I guess it is because the focus spot is too dark. Other than that, the color is incredibly bright and rich. No post-processing required.

Can take very good portraits; Color is very rich and bright

Price is too high; Get fuzzy pictures easily in a slightly dark place.

Canon EF 50mm f1.2L USM review

Canon's EF 50mm f1.2L USM is a prime lens with a standard focal length of 50mm and the joint-fastest focal ratio in the Canon lens catalogue - a position shared with the EF 85mm f1.2L USM.

The King of Bokeh

I'm a photographer by profession. I've used 50mm primes from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus and Sigma. But nothing can even come close to what this lens can do. Pros: 1. Super fast focusing 2. Silent while focusing 3. Extremely sturdy 4. The most important thing. F1.2 man!

Canon EF 50mm f1.2 L USM

Canon visar ännu en gång att deras L optik är i världs klass. Super fina resultat i starkt skarpa bilder.

Super fin optik; Riktigt bra fokus och ett skarpt resultat

Priset är det ända negativa jag kan hitta med detta objektivet

this lens allows you to enter a whole new world of photography, night photography without flash. i have tried both the 24-70L and the 17-55m and felt very limited once the sun starts to set or moving in doors. IQ is stunning, especially the colors.

-sharp; sharp; sharp ( between 1.4- 2.8) -construction is top notch -bokeh is silky smooth (was never a priority in the past for me; but after seeing the results thats all i think about -superb in low light situations

-price; price; price (will not be buying any new lens soon; but maybe i will not have to with this lens) -attention getter (might be a pro for others

When only the best will do

Yes it is expensive but you really won't remember that once you use the lens. The speed allows for many more good shots without the use of any flash. Highly recommended.

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Quick Focus; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

Expensive; Heavy

Great Lens

I've been putting off purchasing this lens for a while because of it's back focus (focus shift) problem which occurs only when photographing at extremely close distance using the center focus point of the camera.

A MUST BUY!!!

Upgraded from the 50mm 1.4. Love love love this lens. Pictures are always sharp unlike the 50mm 1.4 which is very soft at 1.4 to 1.8. A Necessary evil I shoot a wide variety of subject matter for my work and, because I exclusively use full frame Canon bodies and always try to use prime lenses, a...
