We went to the Morton Arboretum near Chicago and "played" with the new lens. We are thrilled with it. First time out and we can't be happier, except for the weight and our own inexperience, the lens performed admirably. We also want to say that it is good for both outdoors and portrait shots.
Consistent Output; Easily Interchangeable; Rugged; Strong Construction
Blurry Focus; Heavy; Slow Focus
I took this lens with me to the zoo. Took photos and video with it. Fantastic output. I read a ton of reviews and was reluctant to buy it. Lot of reviews stating blurry focus and bad bokeh. You have to know how to adjust the settings for this lens. My photos came out sharp.
Consistent Output; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Strong Construction
Heavy; Lens Creep
Superb lens enabling you to take quality, pin-sharp close-ups from long distances. The image stabiliser is very effective too. The only drawback is the relatively small aperture but that's only a problem if you're photographing in low light or indoors, and even then the quality of the images remains...
This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most products of this type, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend.
Good Lens
None
I bought this for a Canon EOS 750D and is a great compromise over buying separate lenses. It's not too heavy and has a lock to prevent movement when pointing up or down. Initial results are excellent and I'm looking forward to testing more of its features.
I have used this lense often awsome flower or butterfly shots with crisp clear results great distance shots on deer ducks geese and all around great lense only complaint from me a tad bit heavy on front end.
Great Lens would love a more expensive one f2 is usm ..but this is great very good lens for the money
Great for outdoor sports and other daytime activities. Decent in lower light settings such as nighttime sporting events.
Excellent Zoom Quality
Slow in low light
I had bought a Canon Rebel T3i just after Christmas....I took it on my vacation in Jan/13 and was very impressed with the quality of the pics....but I wished I had the EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6IS USM telephoto lens for the distance shots that I missed...
