plastic, toy like, expensive

I bought this for a friends birthday. It arrived late, thankyou Littlewoods, I tried to return it, all sorts of problems later, I decided to try it for myself. I usually use NIKON. I found this dslr to be plastic, lightweight and toylike. Not my preference. Although my kids loved it.

Canon SL1 Review

There is nothing bad about this little camera. I look at video as a joke feature (no DSLR does it well), and everything else works great. I own and use my 5D Mark III every day, and depend on the 5D Mk III's C1, C2 and C3 memory modes to let me reset my camera instantly for my preferred settings for...

Canon EOS Rebel SL1

Canon's high-performing EOS Rebel SL1 is the tiniest digital SLR you can put your hands on, but it may be too small for some hands.

When looking at entry-level DSLR cameras, they all start to look the same after a while. Sure, camera manufacturers can add things like Wi-Fi capabilities and touchscreen LCDs, but those items don't change the look of these cameras.

Camera Test: Canon EOS Rebel SL1 DSLR

It's not easy to compare the EOS Rebel SL1 to other cameras. While the Lumix GH3 is ever so slightly larger, most ILCs-especially those that seek to mimic the rangefinder style-are actually smaller. Furthermore, their native lenses are often also smaller.

Canon Rebel SL1 Review

The Canon SL1 is a hit. I had a blast using this camera – it was the most fun I have had with a DSLR since the 5D Mark II came out nearly 5 years ago. Spec-wise, there's nothing that special about the camera; however, when you put Canon's little 40mm pancake lens on the SL1, it becomes an absolute...

Regular readers will know that I love smallest-in-class gadgets, with the exception, perhaps, of TVs and phones, where excessive smallness is both pointless and unhelpful. But with cameras especially, I can't see what's not to love about small and light – so long as the model is serious and not just...

Canon EOS 100D review

Canon has miniaturised the digital SLR with the EOS 100D. If you want a small camera, but absolutely have to have a proper viewfinder, this is your best bet at the moment. It's surprisingly usable given its tiny dimensions, although its 18-megapixel sensor is getting on in age.

First I'd like to thank Canon UK for the loan of an EOS 100D while I was recently in the UK. The EOS 100D and the EOS SL1 are identical, but if you look at the EXIF data in some of the images in this article you will see the camera recorded as the EOS 100D.

EUROPEAN SLR CAMERA

The Canon EOS 100D is the world's smallest and lightest APS-C Digital SLR. As a reflex camera, it offers a very high level of performance, and it is compatible with the accessories and lenses of the EOS family, even though some of the lenses will look big when attached to this tiny model.
