Nearly a hit, but the 100D's small stature doesn't quite make up for its stripped-back features
Small; light body; Live View performance; Great picture quality
No flip-out screen; Stripped-back controls; The 700D does more

The 18-megapixel EOS 100D is the literally smaller brother to the 700D sitting at the summit of Canon's APS-C sensor-based digital SLR range.
Smaller and lighter build makes carrying DSLR body and lens less of a drag; yet more compact proportions haven't obviously compromised picture quality
The lighter construction results in more obvious camera shake in lower light; no angle adjustable LCD plus a smaller handgrip than the 700D which costs just 50 quid more
Perfect entry level DSLR. Super lightweight and easy to use. Touchscreen is excellent and battery life is great. This camera is perfect as a second camera or as a travel camera. Price may be an issue for some, but as always shop around.
Good battery life; Quiet; Nice features/settings; Excellent image quality; Bright LCD; Solid Operation; Lightweight/Portable; Simple controls/menu; Easy to use
Just got my camera on the mail today as soon as I as received it , I couldnt wait long , and ripped the box off and took my baby out lol!!
The Canon Rebel SL1 camera is the smallest DSLR model ever produced, but Canon still has created a model that compares favorably to larger DSLR cameras with plenty of advanced features.
If you are looking for the smallest, most portable Canon DSLR around, look no further – the EOS 100D admirably fits the bill. For many a photographer, foremost on their mind is the size and weight of the camera they intend toting with them everywhere.
Canon's high-performing EOS Rebel SL1 is the tiniest digital SLR you can put your hands on, but it may be too small for some hands. (4 out of 5) Pros Compact design Touch screen Quick to start and focus 4fps continuous shooting Smooth live view focus experience Microphone input Good high ISO...
Compact design; Touch screen; Quick to start and focus; 4fps continuous shooting; Smooth live view focus experience; Microphone input; Good high ISO performance
Limited Raw burst shooting; Pentamirror viewfinder; Fixed rear LCD; May be too small for some hands
I got into photography couple months, i'm not complaining with this camera it is good, and there are many options you can do with this camera when taking photos or filming. worth the price, yea, definitely!
- Easy to grip despite the small size; plus the light weight is nice if you are someone who carries a lot of things around - Awesome pictures (quality kicks ***) + the 18-55mm lens that comes with it is great for starting - Auto focus is exceptional; but I find myself using MF frequently anyways -...
- Battery life is not that long (about 3-4 hours), had to buy an extra 2 batteries; Battery drains quickly ESPECIALLY when filming; - Uhh.; idk can't really think of anything else, it does what it camera does
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who just wants a beginner camera. It is definitely worth the money. The only complaint is that the zipper (the longer part that you use… I don't know what you call it) on the inside of the case broke the first time I used it.
Easy To Use; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD; Quiet
I'm expecting my first baby soon and wanted a quality camera to take pictures. This is my first DSLR and it's a wonderful starter! The pictures are great even on auto, and I'm excited to learn about the manual features and settings as I grow my knowledge in using this camera.
