With welcome improvements to an already great camera, the 5D Mark IV is very nearly the perfect SLR

Great autofocus in video; 4K video capture; Peerless image quality;

No articulated screen; Motion JPEG video capture result in enormous file sizes;

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is among the best full-frame DSLRs in the market right now, and is certainly among the best that Canon has ever made. It even makes for a good upgrade from the 5D Mark III, and for new full-frame DSLR buyers, the EOS 5D Mark IV is a versatile, competent DSLR to go for.

True-to-source colours; Great contrast; vibrancy; Fast; precise autofocus; Sturdier body

Tendency to over-sharpen photographs at times

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

Canon's 5D Mark IV is a top performer - but you'll be paying a premium for it. Top-notch images are promised from this camera, which will be all too familiar to existing users of the 5D Mark III or 5D Mark II .

Full-frame sensor; Touchscreen is useful; Solid 4K video recording; Built-in Wi-Fi

Heavy; Expensive; Frame rate isn't particularly high

This is simply a note to buyers of these high-end Canon cameras in India. I bought the Mark 1 Canon 5D; after some 6 months it needed repair and was sent to a supposedly approved repair shop in Chennai, simply to have a cracked screen on the body replaced. After six months I got the camera back, (!
