I absolutely love this camera. Its easy to use and takes great pictures. I upgraded from the T3i which I also loved and am selling to a friend. This camera feels good in the hand and has a more professional feel.
Despite its name, the 60D is most definitely the Rebel T2i's big brother, and not the successor to the 50D. The Canon EOS 60D has been released to bridge the gap between its Rebel T2i and 7D. It's a bold step by Canon, but has it paid off?
18 megapixels; Good results at higher ISO settings; Full HD movie mode; Flip-out LCD screen
Some fiddly controls; Plastic body; Currently overpriced
Great camera, best value for money, 8/10
Nice size; screen and layout
The menu
After outgrowing my Canon 350D a couple of years ago I decided that I would upgrade to a Canon 60D. It's probably the best choice I ever made and I definitely haven't regretted it. There's only one downside that I've ever come across whilst using the 60D, and that is the menu.
The 60D seems to have excellent IQ with each lens I've tried with it. The Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS, Sigma 17-70mm DC OS HSM Macro, Sigma 120-400 DG OS HSM, Tamron 28-300 XR DI VC and several prime lenses.
Excellent IQ; articulating LCD screen, easy to use controls; nice HD video capture; 18MP provides great resolution without sacrificing noise control
Build doesn't seem as sturdy and the 50D; slower frame rate than 50D and the shutter is a little noisy
i got this camera during the Xmas sale. the reason I prefer this one to any T3, or T4 is because the little display on top of the body helps me adjust the aperture, shutter speed and ISO quickly while taking pictures instead looking at the LCD and re-compose.
This is a very good camera, if you are a mid-level photographer. The features are a definite win over the similar Nikon camera. However, the Nikon has the metal composite, weather-proof construction that this Canon lacks. Its performance, especially when shooting on a tripod, is exceptional.
I love cannon with excellent 3:2, 3 inch, 1.04 million dot screen. The T4i is supposedly better with video. They have the same sensor so the picture quality is going to be great. I was on the fence between the 60d and the T4i.
same sensor so the picture quality is going to be great
It's not as light as I expected
"I wanted to try the canon 60d to start seriously making videos, and maybe take a couple of pictures, but the camera got me hooked. I had some prior experience with photography, but never video. It was all new to me but the Menu formats were so easy to master.
Vari Angle LCD, 18 ; 0 MP, Live View Mode, Full HD, 3 inch LCD, ISO 6400, 5 : 3 fps
shooting inside with no outside light gives an orangeish color; but that might be my crappy lens
