Canon 7D Mark II review

As you might guess from its name, the new Canon EOS 7D Mark II replaces the Canon 7D. It therefore assumes its place above the APS-C format Canon 70D and below the full-frame Canon 5D Mark II in the Canon SLR line-up.

Canon 7D Mark II

The Canon 7D Mark II is a much needed and much welcomed upgrade to the venerable, 5-year-old EOS 7D. Catering primarily to sports, action and wildlife photographers, the 7D Mark II -- like the 7D -- borrows many features and performance specs from their 1D-series models, but at a more affordable...

Excellent image quality; High ISO performance improved over predecessor; Excellent burst speeds (up to 10fps); Significantly improved buffer depths; 65-pt AF system; Dual Pixel CMOS AF; Can focus down to f/8 (great for teleconverters); 1080/60p video; Headphone and mic jacks; Rugged build quality,...

Autofocus speed (AF shutter lag) slower than 7D and 70D; Mediocre battery life for a pro DSLR; Dynamic range at low to moderate ISOs not as good as competitors; Phase-detect AF did not perform as well as expected in our low-light AF tests; No built-in Wi-Fi; No autofocus for 1080/60p video, Full AF?...

Show stopper for action photos

The autofocus and speed of the 10fps makes this the perfect tool for what I do, which is adventure sports photography. It is built like a tank, too, so it can put up with some ruggedness. I've shot outside in the rain and snow and its done great.

Easy To Use; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization

Short Battery Life; Small LCD Screen

I love canon this camera

This camera is the master of all crop sensors and one cannot imagine better than this. Auto focus is fast at most of lighting conditions. Build quality is rugged. There are several options for video, specially 60fps at 1080 resolution. There is a healthy competition from Nikon with model d7200

Lens need microadjustmen to fit the 7d Mark ll body.

You need to fine tune each lens (microadjustment), before you can get the sharp image.

Dream photography

I had been wanting a 7D for quite some time and when I was able to buy one I looked around for the best deal. John Lewis priced the camera at the market value and was the only supplier that I found who gave a two year guarantee, the others were just one year.

Canan cams

Though mirrorless camera sales continue to grow, the interchangeable lens camera market is still overwhelmingly dominated by traditional DSLRs. And when it comes to traditional DSLRs, the gold standard ( for the last couple of years, anyway) has been those with full-frame sensors.

Awesome Body!

I have used many DSLRs.. but this one is going to beat every DX frame camera, trust me and close your eyes and click on the buy now option.. in terms of video its comparable with Canon 5D mark iii and in terms of AF and Continuous buffer speed its comparable with canon 1Dx.

Best Canon DSLR I have ever owned so far

Best camera I have ever owned. Tons of features and scenarios to choose from. It was worth it. Throw in an "L" lens and your pics will be amazing. Check out the canon website for the online video tutorials and you will be a pro in minimal time.

Read the specs. Exactly as described. Fast shutter speed 10 fps; GPS, 65 point tracking AF points, Manual Selection if needed; Camera is a pure pleasure to operate. I owned a Canon Rebel T5 and this is 7D Mark II is my upgrade

None I can think of; But for those who are die hard critics - it does not come with builtin wifi , but is wifi capable with the eye card to offload your pics wirelessly if you so desire

Great Features!

I bought my first Canon in 1979, an A-1 and then I bought a second one, also an A-1. I went digital with a Rebel T-5 in 2016 to shoot a wedding, then upgraded it to a 7D Mark II in 2017. I enjoy outdoor land & waterscapes, and wildlife photography, but wanted to go full frame and mirrorless.
