Perfect for mobile workers who need to keep up with the paperwork, but who are frequently on the road and so don't have access to a permanent office, the Canon P-215 undoubtedly fills a need.

Great small portable scanner that works geat with Apple OS X and Win 7

I like how compact the unit is, the software installed easily and works fine. Canon is a world leader in digital image processing so that is why I went with the unit. I was able to get a good deal on Ebay for this. Cons. Typical Canon. No AC power source included and no case included.

Canon imageFormula P-215 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner

A close cousin to the Editors' Choice Canon imageFormula P-150 Scan-tini ($295 direct, 4 stars), and one small step up in Canon's line, the Canon imageFormula P-215 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner ($325 direct) combines a not quite identical scanner with improved software.

Automatic document feeder; Duplexes; Rated at 15 pages per minute for black and white as well as grayscale

Relatively big and heavy for a portable scanner; Application programs don't install by default

This things works great. I got it to organize a great deal of documents and to have a small sized scanner for when you're on the move. The business card feature works well, it uses USB 3 and does OCR (optical character recognition) as it scans which is great. 4 stars because of price.

Works great; has basic software needed built into a small flash memory storage

Seems a bit fragile; expensive

Great scanner

Great product, I love its small size and considerable speed. Everything is better than expected really, but I'll concentrate here on these tiny annoyances that surfaced on my watch. The first problem concerns the scanning software.

Accurate Color; Easy To Set Up; Good Resolution

Few Paper Formats Work

I heart P-215

I HIGHLY recommend this scanner. I can store it in my Laptop bag, and pull it out anytime I need it. I have scanned hundreds of pages of documents with it and am very pleased with the PDF output.

I love this little scanner; I literally can't believe how often I end up using it; I scan just about everything with it including important receipts, documents, and more; I thought I would use this a few times per month, but once I got used to using it, I now use it almost every day for one thing or...

Before receiving the scanner, I was aware that the 3rd party software Vuescan was not supporting the P-215, but I had hoped to get it to work; Even trying to use the twain drivers, I couldn't get it to work.

Easy to use!

Love that you can just plug it into any computer without having to download a driver. I have downsized the amount of paperwork in my file cabinet considerably by using this scanner. It was so easy to use, basically just plug it in and start scanning.

Canon imageFormula P-215II Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner Review

If you need a portable scanner to use with your laptop, and want it to be capable enough that it could even serve as your desktop scanner, the Canon imageFormula P-215II Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner ($299) is a particularly strong candidate. It's a bit bigger than most portable models, but it delivers important extras, including an automatic document feeder (ADF) and a duplexer (for two-sided scanning). Add in the P-215II's ($224.00 at Amazon) fast scan speed, and it's a shoo-in as our Editors' Choice portable document scanner. The P-215II is smaller, lighter, and less expensive than the Kodak ScanMate i940 , another top pick as a heavy-duty portable document scanner. It's also less expensive, yet faster than the now-discontinued Canon imageFormula P-215 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner. In addition to offering an advantage in size and weight compared with the Kodak model, the P-215II matches the Kodak i940's 20-sheet ADF capacity, its ability to duplex, and its ability...

The Canon imageFormula P-215II Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner is designed to be portable, but it's capable enough to serve as a personal desktop scanner as well.

Canon imageFormula P-215 Scan-tini

Canon has been making scanners for years, so the company certainly knows its way around the category. But the portable scanner market is highly competitive, with everyone from Xerox and Brother to Fujitsu and Neat Receipts looking for a piece of the action.

Duplexer lets you scan two-sided documents; Multiple ways to connect to your PC or Mac; Easy-to-use Auto Start feature; Excellent scan quality

Business cards can jam during scanning; Doesn't include power adapter; Relatively bulky; Slower scanning speeds on photos and business cards
