I searched long and hard to find the best scanner for clearing and organizing the piles of backlogged documents in my office. Unfortunately this scanner came without any CDs, paper docs or, most importantly, the OCR software (ABBYY app) that it's advertised with.

I bought the GT 1500 to archive documents. My first project was a 420 page document which I have scanned as a single PDF. The document feeder worked really well and in less than an hour I had a OCR PDF file of the document - very impressed.

This has to be among the worst scanners I have had the displeasure of using. The sheet feeder is useless, hardly ever picks up the paper first time.

If you have LOTS of documents to scan at a time, then this is a good scanner for you. Very fast and nice quality scans. Designed for small work spaces but very productive. Highly recommended.
