Lens Test: Fujifilm 56MM F/1.2 R Fujinon XF

Among portrait shooters, the 85mm f/1.4 or f/1.2 full-frame lens has been the time-honored holy grail of glass. Allowing dreamily defocused fore- and backgrounds that set off the subject to great effect, and the perfect focal length for flattering the human face, these lenses have found their way...

Fuji 56mm f/1.2 Review

This Fuji XF 56mm f/1.2 is an extraordinary aspherical 85mm-equivalant short tele lens that only works on Fuji X-mount cameras . As the world's newest ultra-speed tele, this lens has superior optical performance.

Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R review by michaellhunt

When I first got this lens I was expecting okay quality. After a few hours I was literally stunned with the sharpness. By the time I was at F4 this lens is a sharp is anything I own. Beautiful quality images, great contrast and wonderful sharpness throughout the range of F stops.

Sharp; Fast

A must for Fuji-X owners! If I could habe only one lens for my X-series, then this.

One of the best lenses I've ever had; Only my Zeiss FX-lenses are better

Quite huge on a Fuji-X

Fujifilm has two 56mm lenses for their X Series cameras, and although the APD is near identical in spec, it's hiding a secret its rivals can't compete with... APD stands for apodization filter, an inclusion that makes the bokeh smoother than a regular lens.

The XF56mm F1.2 R APD lens is a standard prime lens with a focal length equivalent to 85mm. The lens has a maximum aperture of F1.2 making it the world's brightest autofocus lens for digital cameras with an APS-C sensor.

Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R

It is an spectacular lens, sharp already wide open. It was my go to portraiture lens - until the 90mm (which is probably one of the best lenses ever made) appeared. Still, the 56mm has a huge advantage - it's light gathering ability with f/1.2 And you can use f/1.2 without problems because contrast...

f/1.2; sharp

FUJIFILM FUJINON XF 56mm F1.2 R Lens - BRAND NEW review

Like the previous, non-APD 56mm lens, Fujifilm has really knocked it out of the park with another excellent optic for their popular X-mount cameras. Offering excellent, sharp images, with very low distortion, CA and vignetting, plus the "bokehlicious" ƒ/1.2 aperture -- and now with the...

Fujifilm's 56mm f/1.2 is one of the brightest autofocus lenses out there, but is it worth $1,000?
