A great nifty little scanner for quite a reasonable price. Looks complicated but very easy to use
Good speed; great features; high quality scans
Looks complicated; can be quite quirky

The perfect addition to a home office. The multisheet duplex scanner is as easy as load the sheet feeder and push the scan button. It also reduces the paper work clutter in my home office everyday.
When you see a scanner with a 50-sheet, duplexing ADF built into its top cover, as with the HP Scanjet 5590 ($399.99 direct), it's a safe bet that it's designed to scan multipage documents for OCR and document management applications, as well as fax and copy.
50-sheet, duplexing ADF and 35-mm transparency adaptor are standard; Handles OCR well; Better slide scan quality than most flatbeds
No batch scanning; Transparency adaptor is external, rather than an integral part of the unit; Lacks feature for removing scratches or dust from image
it will do the job I had in mind, was disappointing that it did not included a user manual had to go online to HP to get the disk. I have had this for a while, and it really was a Great Deal for the price, good performance!!
Its Small and easy to handel
Accurate Color; Easy Setup; Excellent Software; Good Bit Depth; Good Resolution; Widely Compatible
We're glad we purchased the HP Scanjet 5590 Flatbed Scanner
I have used this general type of HP scanner for many years with great results...it performs and is simple to use..it works great with acrobat for our pdf's ...would recommend it to anyone..
There was no instruction book, the scanner is noisy, the automatic feeder is not working. The software is not the best.
I use this for 2 years already its just the best quick, clear, its a pleasure to use Problems Encountered: NO
EXCELLENT SCANNER
