Solid Value

Even at NewEgg's full price, this is a tremendous value. At $80 for the recertified unit, it's an absolute STEAL!

Very quiet, reasonably fast, extremely high-quality scans; The built-in slide scanner is a nice bonus, too

It would be nice to have a plain cover to hide the slide slot when not using it; I've had it show through a couple of scans of thin media and have taken to covering small items with a sheet of card stock to compensate

Worst scanner ever bought. Don't buy it!

Comments about HP Scanjet G4010 Photo Flatbed Scanner: Cumbersome setup. Fills the registry with endless entries. Too many steps to perform a scan. After a short period it started to pop up messages claiming to install software.

Difficult Setup; Difficult to Keep Clean; Inaccurate Color; Inaccurate Scans; Poor Resolution; Poor Software; Slow

I had (now in garbage) a HP Scanjet G4010 but you cannot set the default scan size to a normal 8.5"x11" page so you can scan a bunch of pages without cropping each one. This is a basic feature that my Canons all had. Please see my picture.

Nikon Coolpix L19

Nikon Coolpix L19 Years ago, Nikon was one of the first major companies to come out with a high-quality point-and-shoot camera for the serious photographer. That camera, the Coolpix 900, had a 1-megapixel sensor and cost around $800.

Nice design; Excellent macro mode; Good interface; good video quality

Slight but correctable color cast; Weak flash; Easy Auto mode doesn't really work; Detail problems

HP G4010 Flatbed Scanner Review

My name is Art Schwartz and this my first MyMac.com review. I'm a Mac convert, a wannabe photographer, and a recovering academic. By "recovering academic" I mean I: (a) spent the greater part of my career pontificating to disinterested undergraduate students; and (b) am really trying recover my...

Utter Flop

Software impossible to use with Vista. Would scan docs and send to printer OK but never able to set up a "my scanned docs" file to send copies of scanned docs or photos. Worked 2 hrs with HP service and 1 hr with seller to no avail. HP took logfile but then took 4 days to get back to me.

Prompt and courteous service; but failed to fix problem

Unable to get software to function properly ; Would not store docs.

so I decided to keep on using it & taken the risk of accepting a " OUT OF WARRANTY + USED + DIRTY + BAD SHAPE + BROKEN DRIVER CD

I received a faulty Unit of the scanner , requested for a replacement and I received again another unit in next 10 days time . The replacement unit which I received was a working one but it was 2 years old used unit .

Rate it all!

HP G4010 ScanJet Photo Scanner

The G4010 works well in default mode. Using higher DPI or editing while scanning makes copying very slow. I mean like 6 minutes per scan. Only buy if you dont need editing before saving pictures.

Overtaxed by its features

I bought this product with high hopes, but it's seriously damaged my faith in HP's imaging products.

Inexpensive; acceptable scan quality and speed on paper objects

Insufficient image quality for scanning negatives; awful software; unreliable

The HP G4010 Scanjet Scanner Made My Day

The HP Scanjet is really a 1,2,3 operation. All I wanted was a piece of equipment that I could easily set up and produce out of sight scanned images. The HP Scanjet delivered it big time. I can even scan transparencies and 35 mm slides. The HP software is in my opinion one of the best on the market.
