OnePlus 5T clearly emerges as the winner in the 30K category without too much of competition there. The smartphone performs like a beast with top notch Qualcomm 835 chipset and shoots pictures like nothing less than DSLR with dual camera setup and pretty awesome low light output with f1.7.

OnePlus 5T: Quick Review and a Gaming Perspective

For a phone this big of a size, it's pretty thin & fits in the hand perfectly. Premium metal body looks and feels great. Fingerprint scanner on rear gives phone a decent look. Change in [...]

Still, if you want a slim, compact phone with a great camera and plenty of power you can't go wrong, and you're likely to pay less for the Huawei P10 than you will for most of 2017's flagships too.

+ Compact design; + Great camera; + Premium look

- Underpower battery; - 1080p screen; - No water resistance

To conclude, the OnePlus 5T is certainly one of the fastest Android smartphones of 2017 and it does come with a premium look and display. The performance is top notch and Dash charge is a real saviour. But when it comes to the camera, the phone struggles.

Performance; Battery; Display

Camera; Face Unlock

OnePlus 5T Review: The Hard To Beat $500 Smartphone

I mentioned in the intro that I came to like the OnePlus 3 so much, I wasn't sure I'd ever find another phone that could replace it, in terms of being such a great all-around package.

Seriously well-rounded package; Charges ridiculously fast (0-60% in 30 minutes); Finger print reader works perfectly; and is located in an ideal position; Facial recognition works really well; Clean OS; void of bloat.

Optical zoom from the OP5 is gone on the 5T; No expandable storage; Camera struggles in some low-light conditions

OnePlus 5T review

The OnePlus 5T isn’t a surprise, both in its existence and the fact it’s very similar to the OnePlus 5. It stands as a reminder that 2017 was the year every company quickly produced a phone with an 18:9 display to make sure its bezels didn’t look outdated on the store shelf. But OnePlus isn’t on many store shelves given its online retail approach, and its many vocal core fans who bought the 5 will be annoyed by the 5T. OnePlus needed to update its design language quickly to keep up with the wider market where it is yet to make a dent, and the 5T is overall a better device than the 5. And let's not forget that for £449, the OnePlus 5T is an exceptionally well rounded smartphone. It is at least £100 cheaper than similar handsets, and sometimes close to £300 less. If you buy into the design (without waterproofing and wireless charging) and price but can accept that the camera isn't top draw and it’ll probably be superseded in six months, then it’s a great choice.
