The first G-branded phone was the LG G2 released in 2013. It wasn't until the LG G4 and the awesome leather back appeared that I seriously considered carrying one as my daily driver.
Large display in compact form factor; Outstanding camera performance; Water; dust; and shock resistant; Wireless charging; microSD expansion card slot; Solid battery life; Low price for a flagship phone

You may be thinking "That's it? That's the whole review?" (OK, maybe you aren't, but this one felt short to me when I was writing it.) But I think it's a good sort of 'that's it.' The G6 isn't the most exciting phone we're going to see in 2017, but it's a reassuringly competent improvement on the...
Display I'm loving the wider (longer?) screen, and LG's IPS LCD looks as good as ever; This works for me, Battery Good battery life, if not exceptional; If you're in the US, you get the bonus of wireless charging, Ruggedization LG claims the G6 stands up to a drop pretty well, and it's also IP68...
Battery While the battery life is solid now, it's not amazing, and I think a screen of this size warrants a bit more battery just as a future-proofing measure; 3500 or 3600mAh would have seemed more appropriate, Storage 64GB should be standard on a $650+ phone in 2017.
The number 5 seems to be quite problematic for the Koreans. Samsung faced some of the worst reviews ever for a flagship product and one of the worst sales performance in their flagship Galaxy S line-up with the S5.
Surprisingly Small and Ergonomic Design; Great Build Quality and Durability; Water and Dust Proof; Beautiful Display with Unique 18:9 Aspect Ratio; Great Video Stabilization; Good Quality Camera; Great Audio Output
No 2.5D Curved Glass; Excessive Noise Reduction for Still Photos; Not Great Battery Life
Cutting corners - it's the story of the LG G6's life. And we mean this both literally and figuratively. Literally because its display doesn't have right angles, it's soft arcs instead.
BARCELONA: LG unveiled its G6 smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this week, although there was little surprising about the specifications of the device, as most of it had been leaked before hand.
The LG G6 finally offers something smartphones should have been offering for a long time: an edge-to-edge display, so it's hard to argue with LG when it claims it's the best screen on a handset right now. Prices are yet to be confirmed but we can expect it to be in the £500-600 region. µ
The battery isn't removable and it no longer supports Friends (oh no). In every other respect the LG G6 is a big and bold upgrade over the LG G5, and we'd say it's by far the better phone. However, we'll know more when we've had it into our Test Centre for proper testing.
The LG G6 marks the end of the modular smartphone from the Korean manufacturer. Instead, we get a robust chassis, new screen ratio, improved cameras, and a bigger battery. Sounds like a good combination.
compact design; sturdy chassis; water and dust resistance; good performance; great cameras; excellent microphones; very good voice quality; great display with Dolby Vision and HDR10; good battery runtime; expandable storage
display uses PWM; only wired video output; only USB 2.0; throttling under high load; no dual-SIM
The LG G6 is a beautiful handset that isbuilt with purpose: battery life, simplicity, beauty, durability, and reliability. LG has largely succeeded in achieving these goals into a solid handset that leads the way for a 2017 transition from 16:9 to 18:9 (2:1) display aspect ratio.
Large display in a reasonably sized chassis; Stunning and unique wide camera shots; Designed for life with water-resistance and shock awareness
Very good camera; but S7 and Pixel are ahead; Available feature set is different per region
