Surface Pro 3 deep-dive review: Has Microsoft finally got it right?

There's a saying about Microsoft that I've heard for a long time: It takes three tries for the company to get something right. For example, it wasn't until Windows reached version 3.0 that the operating system really took off, and it was only when Word 3.0 hit that the word processor became a market...

Excellent 12-in; screen, very good keyboard cover, useful stylus and handwriting recognition, lightweight

Expensive; Windows 8 lacks many apps; keyboard cover costs $130 extra

MacBook vs Surface 3 Pro comparison

While the Microsoft Surface 3 Pro is technically a tablet, Microsoft claims that it can meet the needs of a regular laptop user. When it was announced, it was compared a lot to the MacBook Air, which we then followed up with a comparison of our own .

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 review

Microsoft has pitched it's new, bigger tablet fairly and squarely at the laptop market. With Windows now touch-friendly, is this the future of laptops?

Microsoft's Surface Pro has sized up, embracing its laptop side in an attempt to unseat the MacBook Air as your computer of choice. The Surface Pro 3 won't succeed, but it's a damn good effort. What Is It? Microsoft's third swing at reinventing the laptop and the tablet at the same time.

The Surface hardware is beautiful as always, but now it has functionality to back it up; The combo of new hinge, Type Cover lock-bar-thingy, and a bigger screen make the Surface Pro finally laptop enough .

It's not exactly a flaw but Microsoft doesn't include Type Cover with the devices it sells; that's an extra $130. And considering that it's basically mandatory, the Surface Pro 3 is actually, sneakily, $130 more expensive than Microsoft would have you believe.

To appreciate Microsoft's latest tablet computer, you need to accept the notion that one device can do it all. The Surface Pro 3 works as a tablet when you want to watch video or read e-books. It works as a laptop when you need to get serious work done.

Who could have thought even 10 years back that you could search the world from your pocket, afford fitness tracking, GPS tracking, listen to music,...

The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) Review: Evolution

The Surface Pro lineup has always been one of the most powerful tablet class devices around. Microsoft is no longer marketing it as a tablet that can replace your laptop anymore though, and they've acknowledged that most of the customers who buy and use the Surface Pro are looking for an...
