Great lens but lens internal spots made me send it back

Received the lens in a reasonable amount of time. The lens itself is great, but my images contained about 30 either dust or oil spots that made it too impractical to keep. Had to send it back for a refund. Very disappointed.

Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Nikkor review by dugong5pm

this is the "budget" pro-telezoom. one of the best indeed. The first thing that crossed your mind will be the build quality of the lens. The lens is a solid metal, that looks like a real pro lens. The design is so simple and very comfortable to use.

built like a tank; IQ; ergonomics

none

A true sleeper

I had been lusting after a 70-200 f/2.8 AF-S VR for a while, and stumbled upon a nice used example of this lens at my local camera store. The price was right, so I snapped it up and have never looked back - the AF-S VR is no longer on my wish list.

fast, sharp, great for low lights condition,

This lens is great,, it is fast and sharp,, I loved the push and pull zoom,, although the lens is old,, but it was a new experience for me and loved it,, I can zoom in or out fast than a rotating ring,,, its only problems are it's weight and it does not have a tripod mount collar,,, otherwise it is

Awesome

This is a great lens. Sure it is heavy, but that is why I bought a monopod. Great results! I take it with me when I go on walks along the river. I use it at weddings to get "the shot" without being seen. I have used it my son's basketball games and will use it during baseball this summer.

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Rugged; Strong Construction

Sharp sharp sharp

This is a heavy Len. It's all metal. It is probably the sharpest Nikon lens that I own Zoom or fixed. It is not slow in grabbing the target. Each time that I go out with this lens and come back and review the photos it just blows me away The color the clarity The sharpness is unparalleled

A Review for the Nikon Nikkor AF 80-200MM F2.8 D ED Lens

I just recently purchased this lens and got the slides back today. A very impressive telephoto zoom with very sharp contrasty results. I was actually trying to win a AFS-80-200MM F2.8 on Ebay recently but lost out. Decided to buy this one new. I don't regret doing so.

ED glass; Sharpness

A bit heavy but not bad

This is the s***! I've had a Canon EF 80-200/2.8L and a Sigma EX 70-200/2.8 HSM previous to this lens and it kicks the other lenses butts. Hard. It's sharp, it's fast and it's built like a Abrams M1 tank. What more could you ask for The A/M-ring is made of plastic and is easy to break.

Sharp; fast; color rendering (is that the correct expression

Plastic A/M-ring

Professional Quality Shots

I purchased this lens a few months ago for my D7000. It is everything that I had hoped for and more. The lens is crisp at any aperature and focal length. The focus speed on the D7000 is fast and tracks well on moving objects.

Quality

Will not autofocus on D3000; D3100; D5000 and D5100
