The Nikkor AF-S 24 f/1.4 is an impressive lens. At large apertures it produces very sharp images in the image center with somewhat soft corners wide open, but stopped down it shows very good to excellent sharpness across the whole (DX) frame. Distortion is very low and CAs are moderate.

A wide angle lens with a bright maximum aperture of f/1.4 should be of interest to those who like shooting by available light as the brightness fades, or indoors.

There is no doubt that the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G ED lens is a very high-quality piece of gear. Build quality is up there with the very best of its current stablemates, while optical performance is superlative.

The most awesome focal length for FX landscapes, and the next most awesome on DX (1.5x 24mm =36mm) . I doubt anything better will be made in the next 50 years.
