Samsung Galaxy S8 Dual SIM SM-G950FD 64GB

Samsung Galaxy S8 is the new flagship phone from Samsung. The Korean company announced it on March the 29th 2016.

The screen measures 5.8 inches and almost covers the entire front area thanks to the curved edges and the removal of the physical home button. Samsung applies an Infinitive Design for the screen, which makes it appear larger than it is. The aspect ratio is slightly taller than most other phones at 18.5 x 9. This aspect ratio allows Samsung to offer split screens and therefore two apps can be viewed at the same time.

Galaxy S8 comes with Samsung's own voice assistant called Bixby and offers face recognition in addition to iris scanning and fingerprint sensor.

This Ardent Samsung Fan Is Disappointed In S8+ Bugs and CNET Contributor Dolcort

CNET contributor Jessica Dolcort or her cohorts engage in stacking the user commentary. She/they did it on their initial Note 7 review, and she/they do it again here on the S8/+ review burying vocal negative user reviews about the very real bugginess of the current Samsung Galaxy flagship.

Galaxy familiarity and improvement evolution

Constant Arbitrary Rebooting (at least 4 times per week)

Samsung Galaxy S8 – Review

Samsung definitely needed to do something big with the S8 and the larger-screened S8+. They've not had the best time of it recently, and there's been widespread coverage of the infamous exploding battery issue. The S8 needed to be good, and indeed, it is.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Review: A Very Attractive Phone With A Few Flaws

The Galaxy S8 packs in a stunning design and a beautiful display. It also features great cameras, refined software, decent speakers, sleek performance and handy additional touches like the pressure sensitive button and the AKG earphones.

Gorgeous design; One of the best displays; Fluid performance; Great camera; Decent speakers; AKG earphones are good

Slippery build; Weird placement of fingerprint scanner; Face Recognition is inconsistent; Average battery performance; Bixby is useless; as of now

Samsung Galaxy S8 review: The most beautiful phone ever has one wildly annoying issue

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is without a doubt the most beautiful, polished phone I've ever held. These words were true when I first reviewed it in April, and are still true a month on. I do have some additional insights since then -- scroll down a bit for those.

The Samsung Galaxy S8's fast speeds and fantastic curved screen make it a top phone for 2017, but the annoying fingerprint reader could sour your experience.

The best-looking phone around crushes it in performance, battery life, water-resistance and wireless charging; An external storage slot lets you keep more photos, videos and music.

Its awkwardly placed fingerprint reader leads to camera smears and longer unlock times; which is aggravating when you use it to unlock your phone dozens of times a day.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Review: On the shoulders of giants

In the cat and mouse game between Samsung and Apple, the user is the real winner, and never has that been so apparent as with the new Samsung Galaxy S8. Undoubtedly the most eagerly-anticipated Android smartphone of 2017, the Galaxy S8 is Samsung's first big opportunity to put the Note 7 battery...

Beautiful design; Curved Super AMOLED screen looks and works great; Fast and lag-free; Camera is among the best

Fingerprint sensor is awkwardly placed; No dual-camera optical zoom; Bixby Voice isn't available at launch

Samsung Galaxy S8 review: The best phone ever made, only smaller

No phone is perfect, and the Galaxy S8 is no exception. But it's better than the best Samsung has ever made in almost every way.

Stunning display in a useful new aspect ratio; Industry leading performance with excellent battery life; Bluetooth 5; fast wireless charging,...

Bixby is a flop; The fingerprint sensor is located in the worst possible place; It's still full of bloatware and duplicative Samsung apps

Samsung Galaxy S8 Review: To infinity and beyond?

To conclude our Galaxy S8 review: there is a lot of good to be said about the "New Galaxy," as everyone calls it. Those of you that were left nostalgic by the beauty of the Note 7 will be happy to see even more beauty shown off here.

Modern 2017 flagship design (Phablet that feels small; Great build quality; Software optimized for one handed use; One of the best cameras of 2017; Good audio performance through headphones; IP68 water and dust resistant; Best specs on a flagship so far; Iris scanner and Secure folder are awesome,...

Third-party software needs to scale up to 18.5:9; Lacks stereo speakers; Battery life is just ok; Where is Android 7.1; Some variants are fingerprint magnets; Hello Bixby is half baked and slow; Software tends to stutter; Fingerprint scanner placement makes no logical sense

The AnTuTu battery test sets the display brightness to maximum and cranks up workloads for the processor, graphics core, memory and storage subsystems. It then runs through a number of real-world scripted workloads, including web browsing, gaming, and video playback, in an effort to drain the...
