This is a perfect combination with my Sony A6000. I take it out when I want to travel light and use out and about -it is more discreet for street photography occasions. The sharpness enables me to capture great portraits and the large aperture gives a great blurry dof effect.
Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus
Given the recent announcements, Sony is finally getting serious about beefing up their lens lineup for the Sony NEX system - so far this has been a major weakness of the system. It seems as if they are feeling the heat introduced by the highly successful Fuji X-system.
Using this lens provides me with glass comparable to what most manual legacy prime lenses many of us use with adapters. In lab testing a Zeiss T* will outperform in MTF data. But in the real world all the program features and enhancements offered by the SONY, like Optical Steady Shot, Auto-focus,...
Fast Program Modes; Great Dof Control; No Adapter Need; Precise Auto-focus; Very lightweight; Virtually Zero Distortion
No aperture ring
Haven't fiddled with this lens too much yet, but the little I have, I'm impressed, and already planning more photo-outings with it. Attached to my NEX-6, this provides a package that is just fun to use, especially with the camera set to A (aperture priority).
Versatile fixed focal length; great in low-light with no flash
Pricey; slightly longer barrel than 16-50mm kit lens retracted
Great lens for traveling and portraits and in low lighting. Only problem is that cases for Nex 6 cameras don't fit with this lens which is crazy since it is only slightly larger than the kit lens.
Easy To Use; Lightweight; Reliable
Doesn't Fit Camera Case
Got this lens last April 2013 and so impressed with the quality of the pictures I had taken. Lens was so quick to focus and shots were so crisp. Low -light shots for indoors is now less of a problem.

Compared it to Leica prime. Will sell the leica ASAP. This is sharp, excellent contrast, rich color, may be too rich for Leica fans.
Super sharp; rich color; fast quiet focus
no marking on lens; none at all

Good build quality; Excellent sharpness; Lightweight; Low CA; Low distortion; Effective optical stabilisation
Maybe a touch expensive; Lens can struggle to focus accurately at distances shorter than half a metre
