Purchased this for my Sony A6000 a week ago. Submitted a few photos for a course I'm taking and was advised by my tutor that my photos were of excellent quality! Very happy with this light weight lens.

Great lens with the Sony A6000. Great for catching birds in flight and images of the moon than can leave the kids gasping at the detail.
So I deliberated a bit to add my 2 cents to the fray. I chimed in because no one mentioned slow autofocus speed with this lens. Like others stated this zoom lens can be a steal - if you get it for less than $200. It produces decent image quality.
Decent build and image quality
Slow autofocus
When I bought my alpha-6000 Sony Camera, I wanted a telephoto to extend my reach. After lugging around big DSLR telephotos for years, this one is a dream since it's light and small while delivering excellent pictures.
I bought this recently as I wanted to take some close ups at a wedding. I thought about it for a while as it is very reasonably priced. It performed very well, sharp photos and blurred background. Overall I am very pleased with the lens
I apologize for not adding much new material to the review of my learned colleague below. But I do want to corroborate and support his thoughts and insights. Folks who did not buy an A6000 and 55-210 lens for $550 total (I got mine from Adorama, with whom I have no connection) in the recent holiday...
Small; good reach; quite good IQ when you are smart and lucky-an exceptional value at the sometimes kit-price of $150 with its soulmate; the A6000
No aspect of it is as good as a Canon 6D with the 70-200 2.8 IS II; On the other hand the lens prices are in a ratio of about 12 to 1
Item is good and arrive on time
Bought this used off of ebay and its been great. Great for sports stuff where you need the range and the autofocus is quick. Only problem is the relatively small aperture which makes it hard to use indoors if there isnt a lot of light but for the price not much to complain about.
Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS is a Variable aperture Auto Focus (AF) Telephoto Zoom lens with Optical Image stabilization and APS-C / DX max sensor coverage, and it is designed to be used with E Mount cameras. What type of photography is the Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS lens good for?
Optical Image Stabilization, Autofocus, Hood supplied, Full-time Manual Focusing, Lens Extends while zooming, Slow Aperture at Wide end, Slow Aperture at Tele end, Variable Aperture

We already feared to publish poor results but the Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS performed better than expected on the NEX 7 with its difficult 24 megapixel sensor. The lens is surely not remotely capable of exploiting the potential of this sensor but the results are generally decent - at least from...
