Compact, lightweight, yet great image quality thanks to the 1 sensor and 422 color space. The Zeiss lens is sharp - I only wish is maintained the 2.8 longer throughout the zoom range. And Sony could have placed the menu button in a more convenient location.

It is more than a little harsh for the other review to score this item so low due to the issues with the new XAVC recording format. No doubt the teething problems for programs reading this brand new codec will be ironed out in due time.

we have three X70s so this comes in very handy for charging, rather than using the cameras as chargers. Battery is not quite a Sony but does last almost as long. Much longer than Vivitar, btw.
