"Is the iPhone 7 worth upgrading to?" This is the question I've been asked by friends, family and MobileSyrup readers since the somewhat controversial iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were revealed.

The Apple iPhone 7 keeps the same look as the previous model, but is now water-resistant and comes in a Jet Black colour option. The iPhone 7 is faster, with more memory, a better camera and longer battery life, but the price has gone up again. Oh, and the headphone jack has been removed.

The Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus might not have the bells and whistles or spanking new design of their competitors, but they are still undoubtedly two of the best smartphones in the market. Personally, the dual-camera of iPhone 7 Plus is enough for me to upgrade my iPhone 6s Plus.

When we reviewed the iPhone 7 last year, it didn't score very highly for a flagship Apple device. Disappointing battery life was the main culprit, but a design that hadn't changed much in three iterations didn't help either.

Overall, the Apple iPhone 7 is a fantastic phone, providing serious competition to the basically perfect Samsung Galaxy S7. It's the best iPhone ever made, without a doubt. The Apple iPhone 7 is the latest iOS smartphone and is the follow up to last year's iPhone 6S. It features a 12 megapixel camera, with an f/1.8 fixed length (28mm equivalent) lens.

Apple's latest iPhone hits all the familiar notes you'd expect it to, and while it's still an amazing device, there's nothing here that we haven't seen before. If you're due for an upgrade, you're unlikely to be disappointed, but don't rush out to buy one.
