Firstly, let me preface this by saying that the 3900X is an incredible chip, as are all the CPUs in the current Ryzen range. That said, the XT variant has for me been extremely disappointing for me, especially given all the review material for the XT chips has focused on this being an enthusiast level product, that only makes sense for people who are serious about & enjoy overclocking (which I am and I do). Coming from a 7700k was a dilemma - Go 10900k, 10 cores blazing fast but no PCI 4 or go AMD slower but with PCI 4 - What I didn't consider is that you can all core clock an intel to 5Ghz, but with AMD you'll be lucky if you can get 4.4Ghz, if gaming go with Intel, can't stress this enough - My 7700k runs AC Odyssey smooth as silk 1440p Ultra - This 3900XT has a decent amount of micro stutter both stock settings or overclocked - Also be really careful with bios settings - Until I disabled Precision Boost Overdrive computer was shutting down and failing to post even after taking bios battery out - Still couldn't get to bios because "Auto" is...view more

Plug and play cpu, works beautifully, couldn't be happier with my purchase as its got similar power to its Intel competition but at a far cheaper price with more cores

I wanted the 3900X but these were the only in stock, so I took the plunge. Very happy

I paid over nine hundred dollars for this CPU in November '21 Even at the current price, would be nice if it came with Wraith Prism cooler... You're welcome PBtech.
