I have had the lense for 3 weeks and during that time have used it both in the field and for some bench work with flowers. I have been very happy with all aspects of this lense, except the weight and I knew about that going in.

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM was first announced in August of 2005, targeting event/street photographers who require a lens with moderate wide to medium telephoto coveraget range.

Excellent Lens. Little on the heavier side. Using it with Canon EOS 600d. First few clicks were not extraordinary but the quality kept on improving on usage. Of course, this is nothing to do with the lens.

This lens came as part of a kit with a Canon 5D. I used the camera on a trip to the Azores earlier this year and found that any images produced which showed the horizon, were unusable, due to the terrific curvature of field. Normal photographs i.e.

The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 USM L IS produced pretty good quality figures in our tests. The resolution is generally very high throughout the tested range with the exception of 70mm and 105mm @ f/4 where the border quality tanked somewhat - this may originate in a slight centering issue of our test...

I have used and using this lens for sometime now and its probably the best lens I have ever used, The image quality the sharpness is excellent, I am a beginner in photography and my experience with this lens has been fantastic Definitely a must have lens for all Canon SLR users
