I use this lens as a supplement to my bigger lenses (400mm and 500mm), mostly for wildlife photography. The lens is super sharp. While a bit on the heavy side, it is easily hand holdable.
Easy To Use; Quality Construction; Tack Sharp

I've had this lens since the winter of 2016, and haven't stopped using it yet. Motorsports photography is tough of the photographer, and even tougher on the equipment. My lens has been hit by chunks of hot rubber, dirt, and has been rained on countless times.
Great lens, improves on original Orignal 70-200 is excellent lens This Mach II is even better as it is sharper wide open. It is a big lens and not cheap but overall a great lens. Sharp, fast with great IS you can't go wrong with this lens.
Sharp; Fast; Image Stabilizition
None
I only had it for 2 1/2 weeks, took some pictures of my nephew soccer game last weekend and I was blown away by the clearity of all action shots.
Awesome picture quality
Little on heavy side
Like every other smart photographer I'm leaving DSLRs. It's all mirrorless for me now; Sony and Fuji. I'm using the MC-11 and MB IV on my Sony, and the Fringer on my Fuji to adapt this lens.
I bought this for my wife, who has a blossoming photo career, and this is the best lens you can buy from Canon. It has the widest aperture of any Canon telephoto lens and its versatility is astounding. They have been lightyears ahead of other companies with lens technology.
Excellent lens to the Canon lineup and I must say one of the sharpest lenses I've ever had the opportunity to use period. The new formula Canon has used for this lens makes the images very sharp and the image crops are amazing to look at.
Superb image quality (crops are still amazingly clear); very fast AF; IS is as advertised and better than the Mark I
Hefty piece of glass...some may have difficulty the jump in price from the Mark I
I had the version 1 of this lens that after a calibration from Canon it was one of the best lenses I had. Initially I was sceptical about this new one but still gave in and bought the Mk 2 version. I am not a pixel peeper but the difference is very obvious.
Very high resolution
Bulky
It was time to move up from my 70-200 F4L and the older f2.8 version's were not an option due to their week performance at f2.8 so I bit the bullet. So far this lens almost stays permanently on my 5D MKII and it has earned it's money back several times over.
Very very sharp; Too sharp actually at times; weather sealing; nice new locking hood design; Improved IS over older versions; can really hand hold to 3 real stops under; 3D like rendering of subjects in circle of confusion ( Almost Pentax limited lens like; great colour rendering and contrast,...
PRICE; I don't know of Pentax patented it but a hood window to adjust polarizing filters or similar would be nice; Strange bokeh; it's a bit harsh with back ground high lights and can make some hard yet still round halos.
The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is a member of Canon's flagship L-series of lenses. This lens is tough and built for the rigours of professional use, featuring dust and water-resistance. Four-stop image stabilisation is available with two modes for static and moving subjects.
