Canon imageFormula DR-M1060 Review
If you have to scan multipage, tabloid-size (11-by-17-inch) documents fairly often, but don't have particularly heavy-duty scan needs, put the Canon imageFormula DR-M1060 document scanner ($2,995) on your must-see list. Bigger than most desktop scanners, but surprisingly compact for one that can scan at tabloid size, it offers duplex (two-sided) scanning, a fast scan speed, and the ability, with some programs at least, to scan to searchable PDF file format as quickly as it scans to image PDF format.
The DR-M1060 ($1,646.00 at Amazon) is broadly in the same category as two other scanners I recently reviewed: the Kodak i3200 Scanner ($5,708.50 at Amazon) and the Kodak i3250 Scanner ($3,890.20 at Amazon) , which is our Editors' Choice tabloid-size document scanner for a small office or workgroup. Compared with the Kodak models, however, the DR-M1060 is not only less expensive, but it's designed for notably lighter-duty use.
