not printed photos yet but copy paper prints are good. Bought for it's ink capacity and general all round reviews. Very easy to set up.
If you're looking for a simple home printer that you don't have to sell a kidney for inks this is it, seriously THIS IS IT. Not only is it a ink-tank printer, it includes an extra 2 Black bottles which allows you to print up to 18,000 pages! Colors are included as well for advertised up to 6000 pages each. Factor in the going price of the ink bottles at about $30-$40 NZD (PB doesnt stock them yet for whatever reason), you would be absolutely mad to buy those cheapo $50 printers which charge $40 for up to 200 pages of prints. I am happy with the printer so far. Setup was straightforward. Scanning and printing work fine wirelessly on Linux following this simple guide: https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2020/05/canon-printer-scangear-mp-ubuntu-20-04/ I have only had it a few weeks so can't speak for its longevity, but in theory at least the cost per printed page should be very low.
The PBT Canon G3660 printer description included a comment of "WIFI Windows Only" ??? but on visiting the Canon site, there were no Windows Only warnings. Conversely, the site and the box indicated Windows and MacOS compatibility. When queried, the PBT staff didn't know what their "WIFI Windows Only" warning was about, so I thought I would try it (I have both Mac & Windows systems). I installed the printer (USB hardwired) on the Mac but the installation did actually "kill" my Router/Mesh Wifi system!!! I recreated a new Wifi setup (new SSID) and then moved the hardwire connection to my Windows system. Reinstalled and that worked. So the ...view more
