I had purchased this to upgrade from my G12 and it does have the new processor and almost the same software, but I should have saved my money. The screen is fixed and the camera does not have the the same feel as the G12.

The Shutter button broke. I have replaced it and is now working but was a nuance for the time it was broken. It is a good product but there is a lot of room for improvement. I did take it on a two week trek in the high mountains in New Mexico.

I've owned the G-16 for 2 1/2 years and can safely say this is the best P&S I've ever owned. This is my 3rd Canon P&S and the most expensive and worth every penny. I originally bought to use at a concert, which took fantastic pictures, but have shot with it everywhere.
Works very well for being such a small camera. Its surprising that it can work as well as it does. It does the job of being a point and shoot well. Its lens is sharp, lets in a lot of light and is quite responsive. Battery life is good but not great, especially if you turn the sensitivity up.
I had this camera for about three years now. I love it, very portable, nice pictures, great memories, good quality. It served me well so far, it's my friend . I like the user interface to Canon, very intuitive and friendly.
