Epson Perfection V600 was shipped with an obvious defect (red scan line down the middle of any scanned image). Very disappointed in EPSON. The scanner itself is high quality and quite capable, producing excellent results on photo scans, v.

Great for everyday use and easy to use for people looking to just scan an image at a time or documents. Do not buy if you want to do some intensive graphic scanning.
Good quality scans, seems to be solidly built and sturdy; The software is simple for scanning and easy to use
Severely limited on depth of scans; With a machine using 32GB of RAM and SSDs for swaps files, you are limited to the depth of scan you can do; You will gt an error that there is not enough memory to scan anything over a low pixel scan
The Epson Perfection V600 scanner is designed for serious amateurs: people who want to scan film and art, remove scratches and dust and save images at very high resolution, and reviews suggest it does all those things well.
Includes Adobe PhotoShop Elements; Good scratch/dust removal software; Built-in transparency unit
Scanning can be slow
I haven't had it hooked up long enough to give 5 Stars across the board. I didn't have any trouble setting it up but disappointed that I can only scan 4 slides at a time however, if the scans are good it will be worth it. So far, good.
As I am doing a lot with family history, this scanner has more than enough features to reproduce clear and precise pictures from old negatives and with the extra features to remove old blemishes and restore them to their original state.
Goods arrived in less than 24 hours. Brought a EPSON scanner v600 to copy 50 years old slides brilliant results even using on auto with dust removal, Elements 11 did a good job of repairing damaged slides.
I believe the unit I received was faulty. The unit would make a few whirring sounds and the error light would start flashing. I was never able to get one scan from it. Customer support responded quickly and after review they recommended returning for exchange.
I do a reasonable amount of work on family history and as such I needed a reliable, versatile scanner for a host of applications. In short the V600 was the most obvious answer, because it met all my requiremeents.
I've told you almost everything in the heading. I bought a new computer and couldn't use my old Epson scanner. This one is much faster, and I've had no errors or problems with it after about 2 months. The software is excellent.
Used exclusively to scan old photo negatives which were primarily B&W, I found the setup relatively easy. However it didn't take long to realize the Epson Scan software has some issues and requires a fair amount of CPU resources in order to get decent images.
