Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner

The Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is an excellent photo scanner that offers all the tools and capabilities that photo buffs of every level could want, including a built-in transparency unit and the ability to scan slides, negatives, and medium-format film.

Fast and high-quality scans of photos and documents; Four buttons with commonly used utilities on the machine; Comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements; Customizable scan interface for different levels of users

Missing a paper instruction manual (all details via a Web site; Lots of scanning options means more time trying to figure out what you need

Epson ships obviously bad hardware

Epson Perfection V600 was shipped with an obvious defect (red scan line down the middle of any scanned image). Very disappointed in EPSON. The scanner itself is high quality and quite capable, producing excellent results on photo scans, v.

Nice little scanner, too bloody small.

Wish I could give this two rankings, one for the size and packaging and the other for picture quality. Let's do the pic quality first. Scanning chromes, and black and white negs is a joy. It's a nice scanner, great detail even when upsampling to 2400 dpi. Crisp and sharp with good range and tone.

Awful Experience (new V370)

After 3 tries with a different Epson V370 Scanner, I through in the towel and decided to no longer do business with them. It would never scan my color negatives correctly; if I tried to scan 4 or 5 frames, the photos would be split or divided with a bunch of partial pictures.

Nice Scanner, but...

Great for everyday use and easy to use for people looking to just scan an image at a time or documents. Do not buy if you want to do some intensive graphic scanning.

Good quality scans, seems to be solidly built and sturdy; The software is simple for scanning and easy to use

Severely limited on depth of scans; With a machine using 32GB of RAM and SSDs for swaps files, you are limited to the depth of scan you can do; You will gt an error that there is not enough memory to scan anything over a low pixel scan

Received a faulty unit

I believe the unit I received was faulty. The unit would make a few whirring sounds and the error light would start flashing. I was never able to get one scan from it. Customer support responded quickly and after review they recommended returning for exchange.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner -- Scanning For Fun

I 've just retired and I've got a lot of old slides and negatives I want to digitize," this frequent request starts. "What scanner do you recommend?" Frankly, we don't recommend a scanner at all.

Epson Perfection V600 Photo flat bed scanner

With the Perfection V600 Photo, in December 2009, Epson introduced a flat bed scanner with a transparency unit into the market replacing the previous model Epson Perfection V500 Photo . The scanner is of a successful and modern design that also looks good in a stylish office or at home.

[REVIEW-EPSON PERFECTION V600 SCANNER]

This scanner is the latest from Epson to combine flat bed scanning of opaque materials with film scanning, positive and negative, 35mm and 6 x 6 cm. It has scanning resolutions up to 6400 x 9600 dpi at 48 bit colour depth.

Let's deal with the big question: can a flat bed scanner really produce film scans to compare with a dedicated 35mm scanner? In our opinion most users will be well satisfied with the Epson output; Scanned Kodachrome slides retained colour, detail and subtlety.

There is no printed instruction manual and the unit, by default, is set to Automatic mode; In this mode it will not scan negative strips correctly; The scan mode must be set to Professional (even if you think that doesn't mean you) to get proper control of scanning
