The Fitbit Ace 2 is an activity tracker designed with kids in mind.
The fun begins right from the start with kids being able to pick their own clock face for the Ace 2, as well as the avatar and cover photos for the app.
The Ace 2 has a comfortable band, an easy-to-use touchscreen and, importantly, an adjustable clasp that lets the Ace 2 grow as the kids grow.
This device is water resistant to 50 metres so kids can wear it in the shower, or by the pool, without a care in the world.
The Ace 2 tracks every movement your youngsters make, as everything active they do counts as exercise.
We all need incentives to get active, and children are no exception. With this in mind, the Ace 2 provides ongoing motivation by letting kids see stats, goal celebrations, parent-approved friends and call notifications.
While the Ace 2 is made for kids, parents can keep an eye on things. Using Parent View, they can monitor kids’ activity and approve their connections. The family account and parental consent is required for children under 13 as an extra safeguard, with further protection built in through Protected Kid View; kids can only keep track of their stats and badges, choose favourite clock faces and avatars and connect with parent-approved friends. Potentially harmful outside influences are kept at bay.
While your kids stay active and motivated, the battery will keep up with their bursts of energy. Up to five days of battery life means less charging and more moving.
Manufacturer: Fitbit
Built with the intention of making sure your young ones are as active as possible, the Fitbit Ace 2 improves on the previous model with a more eye-catching design, better screen and improved water resistance. To top it all off, it's slightly cheaper than the original, too.
Colorful design; Changeable straps; Swim-proof;
Feels a bit cheap; Somewhat expensive; App can be fiddly to set up
As I have seen other reviews, I purchased this for my 9-year-old grandson. The tracker works fine, but the band broke only after 2-3 months. The tracker was also falling out of the bottom portion of the band. I think that Fitbit needs to redesign a band that works for children.
The black piece pops out and is a horrible design for kids. We have owned it for a little over 4 months. My kid is 7 and can be fidgety at times. Honestly he pops it in and out sometimes. So I guess he stretched it out. So at swimming lessons the pebble came out on its own.
This FitBit is great for kids. The strap is very soft, comfortable on the wrist and easily adjustable. The daily challenges and goals are motivating and engaging. The fun clock faces are a nice feature for children.
Great product, tough for the kids. Can keep an eye on how they are going through the app.
The Fitbit Ace 2 doesn't break the mould for what a kids' fitness tracker can do, but unlike its predecessor it puts everything into a more child-proof package. This feels like a tracker built for kids, but also one that has strong core features and the ability to adapt when Ace 2 owners get bored...
Waterproof design; New goal celebrations; More distinctive look
Fitbit released the original Ace as a fitness tracker for kids last year in a bid to tap into the older child market, and with childhood obesity growing every year it is something that should be a growing market.
The Fitbit Ace 2 is a kid-friendly fitness tracker with fun animations to keep them hooked.
Colorful; kid-friendly; and replaceable bands; Animated watch faces; Swim-proof; Motivating goals; badges and trophies
Tracker is prone to falling out of the band; Annoying to switch between child and parent view in Fitbit app; Display prone to scratching
The Fit Ace 2 is an improvement over the original in every way. Its new design is vibrant and fun, not to mention more durable. The addition of a touch screen also makes for a smoother user experience.
Affordable; Vibrant, kid-friendly design; Interchangeable straps; Fairly accurate fitness tracking; Long battery life
No heart rate monitor
