Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR Review

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR ($1,199.95) is the first pro-level standard zoom lens for the the company's X series of interchangeable lens cameras. The lens maintains a maximum f/2.8 aperture throughout its zoom range, is sealed to protect against dust and moisture, and is absurdly sharp at every focal length. It does omit optical image stabilization, an engineering decision that, according to Fujifilm, was made to maximize image quality. If stabilization is a requirement, consider the Fujinon XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS ($385.99 at Amazon) as an alternative, but if you value absolute image quality, a wider angle of coverage, and weather-sealing, the 16-55mm F2.8 is worth it. It's an easy pick for Editors' Choice. The XF 16-55mm ($1,199.00 at Amazon)  is big, especially if you choose to pair it with a a smaller X-series camera like the X-E2 ($719.99 at Amazon) . It measures 4.2 by 3.3 inches (HD), is heavy at 1.4 pounds, and uses large 77mm front filters. The lens i...

Fujifilm's XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR lens is sharp from edge to edge, and is fully weather sealed, but it lacks image stabilization.

No optical stabilization; Some color fringing at 16mm

Fujifilm FUJINON XF F/2.8 R LM WR Lens review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Fujifilm FUJINON XF F/2.8 R LM WR Lens review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Fujifilm FUJINON XF F/2.8 R LM WR Lens review

The iPhone 14 isn’t much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it’s still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades

Fujifilm FUJINON XF F/2.8 R LM WR Lens review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

With pretty much every mirrorless camera maker now offering at least one high-end camera body, the rush is on to produce high-end lenses to match. While some systems already have a bevy of exceptional prime lenses at their disposal, fast zooms have been a little harder to come by.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR Review

This 3.4x standard zoom lens for Fujifilm X-series interchangeable lens cameras provides a field of view equivalent to a 24-84mm lens on a 35mm camera, and sports a fast constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, weather sealed construction and costs around £880.

Excellent sharpness; Relatively lightweight; Robust build quality; Retro design with manual aperture ring; Low CA; Low distortion; Weather resistant; Fast focusing

Supplied hood is easy to knock off line when removing the lens from a bag/case

Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR

The Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR is a fast, professional-level standard zoom lens that delivers stellar results throughout the zoom range. It may be bigger, heavier and cost almost twice as much as the well-regarded Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS kit lens, and also lack the optical image...
