Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100 (2019) Review

The Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100 ($229) is a manual-feed portable document scanner designed for capturing data to your laptop, smartphone, or tablet on the road. The iX100 is an update to a 2014 Editors' Choice product by the same name that, at the time, was one of the most impressive portable document scanners we'd ever seen. While the ScanSnap iX100's hardware is primarily the same, its software bundle is entirely different, and is perhaps one of the most comprehensive collections of portable document scanner utilities we've ever seen. As a single-sheet manual-feed device, though, it's designed for small one- and two-page scan jobs. Within those confines, the iX100 is an exceptional-value portable scanner. Moderate Hardware for Modest Jobs Portable document scanners come in two distinct flavors. There's single-sheet devices like the iX100 that accept one page at a time and therefore require you to insert each page manually. And then there's multi-page sheet-feed portables, such as th...

The Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100 is a fast and feature-packed manual-feed document scanner designed for light-duty data capture on the road.

Good scanner; setting it up is a nightmare

It comes with a CD & USB cable (my mac doesn't have either). There are NO instructions for setup without CD \ USB. In the end I was able to set it up with using their iPhone app, but it was really non intuitive and took more than an hour. Now that it works, I like it.

Fujitsu case quality are good, but

The case fits precisely for the device, but it does not have room for the cable, unfortunately.

Bad Product

I had to return this product. The disc was corrupted and would not download. I then tried downloading the software from the internet three times and it never would install correctly (my computer is only a year old so I know the problem is on my end).

Necessary accesory

It fits the scanner and protects it well, and that is probably the most important thing. If you have bought the scanner, you should also buy this.

Fujitsu's ScanSnap is among the best business card scanners and also the most mobile, letting you connect wirelessly to any computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet.

This scanner has a wireless connection option

This device cannot scan both the front and back of your business card at the same time

With a few minor improvements this could have been the best portable scanner on the market.

I used the fujitsu scansnap for a couple of days now and I'm on the fence whether I should keep it or send it back. PROS: -Light weight. -Compact. -Fast scanning. -Relatively good scans, nothing compared to my Fujitsu Scansnap ix500, but it's ok for a portable scanner.

Review of the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100

Who needs a portable Wi-Fi scanner? You do, if you'd like to be able to open a drawer, pull out your scanner, and scan documents quickly with no wires or plugs to deal with. Or if you want to do your expense reports at the coffee shop. Or scan while sitting on the couch. You get the idea.
