Garmin Vivoactive HR Review: Seriously Impressive

The Garmin Vivoactive HR is potentially the only fitness tracker you'll ever need to buy…

Useful Display; Tons of Features; Accurate Tracking; Water Resistant; Pairing With Phone; GPS-Support, So No Need For Phone; Collects MASSES of Data

Design's Rather Chunky; App Has A Learning Curve

Review

This is a good size watch that includes GPS built in. It works well for running and biking and step counter. I have not used it for swimming or golf.

Track your fitness activities in high detail with this comfortable smartwatch

Being able to track your daily level of activity is the first step towards maintaining a healthy (or healthier) lifestyle. Gadgets such as a simple Fitbit are a good entry point because they can measure steps in real-time and allow you to set daily goals, providing motivation to move.

GPS tracking; Comfortable to wear; Lots of metrics to digest

App and Web interface could stand to be a little clearer; Step count was a little off

Good value functionality

Contains all of the functionality I require for now. The watch is just small enough to wear everyday, but could still be considered a little bulky. HRM and waterproof rating were the big positives Vs others. Screen quality & sharpness is a little disappointing.

Great watch

It's a great watch. Does well with activity tracking, good smart notification. It's my first gps watch and I couldn't be happier with it. Battery lasts for about a week, depending on use. Comfortably lasted a 12 hour cycle.

Great

I like the watch and it works well for me. It is comfortable to wear all day and night!! I am still learning how to use the phone app/watch together and I like the way it maps my mountain bike rides. I also have the my fitness pal app which links to Garmin Connect and that is great!

comfortable & light

Garmin VivoActive Review

After wearing the Vívoactive for two weeks, we still can't really decide if this is the easiest to use GPS watch we've ever tested, or the most complex fitness tracking band. But that's a good thing.

On-board GPS and step tracking; ANT+ sensor connectivity; Waterproof to 5 ATM; Smart Notifications (phone; text; email

Only one programmable alarm; Sleep tracking lacks detail; Menus can be complex

Garmin vivoactive HR Review: All-Purpose Performer

When the most popular fitness trackers sell for around $120, you have to make a pretty compelling device if you want to sell it for twice that. Fortunately, the Garmin vivoactive HR ($249) lives up to its price.

Tracks a wide range of activities; Good battery life; Screen is readable in daylight; Customizable interface; Tracks wide range of activities

A little bulky; Inaccurate sleep tracking

Garmin Vivoactive HR review: Multi-sports master, just not much of a looker

If you're a general fitness fan rather than someone with a specialist hobby, deciding which wearable is right for you is tough. What sport do you prioritise? Are your morning runs more important to you than your weekend round of golf, or would you rather track your commute-based cycles or your...

Solid all-round sports tracking; impressive battery life; stable GPS; accurate heart rate sensor

Slightly stiff and boxy design; dull screen; lack of in-app coaching

Garmin Vivoactive review

Most smartwatches aren't all that great for people who actually exercise: runners, swimmers and cyclists. Without GPS, a watch is just left guessing your speed and distance based on how fast you move your arms. Even the ones that currently have GPS don't often make great use of it.
