Kinect Star Wars review

As any self-respecting Jedi wannabe can tell you, a one-to-one motion-control lightsaber game has been the big dream ever since the Wii was first announced. Now, with Kinect Star Wars, the fantasy has become a reality – and while perfection is still in a galaxy far, far away, this game shouldn't be...

Four fully-realized minigames; The precise Kinect controls outside of Jedi Destiny; The love that went into the Galactic Dance Off mode

The Jedi action disappoints; Last gen visuals; Sore arms from podracing

Kinect Star Wars

There's a reason Kinect Star Wars was one of the first games announced for Microsoft's motion-control device. Most fans of Lucas' sci-fi universe would probably agree, the idea of being a badass Jedi who can Force-move objects with your bare hands just seems like a perfect, natural fit for...

+ Presentation's pretty decent overall; Galactic Dance Off mode is outlandish fun

? Why can't we wield Dark Side powers? Force Choke and Force Lightning would've been sweet

Kinect Star Wars Review

I was raised on Star Wars. The movies, the games, the expanded universe novels, you name it. And through all that time I never could quite understand why, when imbued with the powers of the Force that some turned to evil. That is until I played Kinect Star Wars .

Light saber use is cool and instinctive; Rancor Rampage lets you be Godzilla for a day; Yes; the dancing is actually rather enjoyable

Lacking the coolest force powers; Graphics look like a Wii game; Some gameplay modes get old pretty fast

Kinect Star Wars fails to live up to its potential (review)

Kinect Star Wars has been in the works for a long time. When Microsoft first demonstrated the Kinect motion-sensing system in June 2010, it showed off the Star Wars game as a work in progress. The game made another appearance in a live demo at E3 in June 2011.

If any game forces you to get off the couch, this one is it; Playing Kinect Star Wars for hours at a time is physically taxing; I recorded a few thousand steps on my counter after playing for a couple of hours.

The heart of the game is swinging a lightsaber; If you are right-handed, you use your left hand to wield The Force, picking up enemies and tossing them aside; You swing at enemies with your right hand; You can also kick enemies or jump up in the air.

Kinect Star Wars

Alright: May be slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled.

Kinect Star Wars

Star Wars geeks drooled over the idea of a Stars Wars game on the Wii. They were let down by what they got. Then they saw a ray of light with the Kinect on the Xbox 360. Imagine swinging your arm around like you were holding a light saber with one arm, and throwing force powers with the other hand.

Kinect Star Wars

I'd like to consider myself a pretty hardcore Star Wars fan. While I may not get dressed up like a Stormtrooper and my slave Leia outfit is strictly for home use, I do have Star Wars tattoos! Come on, that's pretty hardcore, right? It's always a nice feeling when someone gets it.

Throughout this review you will have seen the word average used to describe sections of the game and as an overall package I would again use this word to describe things.

Review – Kinect Star Wars

" Há muito tempo, numa galáxia muito distante . . . " Foi este o grande tema de abertura de uma das mais fabulosas e conhecidas séries de ficção científica criado pelo génio George Lucas. O primerio filme da série apareceu no longínquo ano de 1977 quando ainda nem se sabia o que viria a [...

For sci-fi fans it's fun and physical but inconsistent.

Parents need to know that Kinect Star Wars is an Xbox 360 game that requires Microsoft's motion- and sound-sensing Kinect peripheral, sold separately. Its five modes have players fighting with a lightsaber, destroying cities as a monster, racing pods, and dancing.
