Updated Router

Last router was too dated to support current technology. Replaced modem and router. Installation was easy. Allowed us to install separate line for special use system. Had Linksys router before and purchased on our experience, even though Office Depot had other products at lesser prices.

Linksys EA9500 review

Things are really moving on in the world of routers . Just a couple of years ago, a router that was a bit larger than average and sporting two aerials was enough to raise the eyebrows. Next to the Linksys EA9500 however, and these would look positively discreet.

Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router Review

The Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router is all about "big." It's designed for large households, physically, it's huge, and its $399.99 price certainly isn't small. Powered by a dual-core CPU and featuring eight external antennas, this monstrous tri-band router packs Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO) streaming, eight Gigabit LAN ports, and plenty of management settings. It's a very solid performer, but you'll get similar performance from our Editors' Choice high-end wireless router, the TP-Link Talon AD7200 Multi-Band Wi-Fi Router ($657.99 at Amazon) , plus 802.11ad Wi-Fi capabilities, for around $50 less. Design and Features At 2.6 by 10.4 by 12.5 inches (HWD), the EA9500($329.99 at Amazon) is among the largest routers we've seen, edging out the TP-Link Talon (1.7 by 9 by 9 inches) by several inches. The black enclosure holds eight adjustable, non-removable antennas (three on each side and two on the back) and has a status panel with eight LE...

The massive, fully loaded Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 delivers wicked-fast throughput and is brimming with I/O ports and management features. It's a definite contender for high-end, cutting edge routers.

It's hard to deny the Linksys EA9500 is one of the best routers on the market. It topped our charts in everything from LAN to LAN throughput, through 2.4GHz and 5GHz performance, and even into storage performance.
