I have a previous version on the slingshot, and love love love it! It's so easy to keep everything right at your fingertips, w/out having to unpack yourself from your bag! I'll even keep it up front to balance my elbows on the pack when taking a shot...
Bag is great. It was able to hold my Sony A6500 with the Sony Zeiss 55 1.8, the Sony master 100 400 (in the front pocket), batteries, charger, Sony 12 24 f4 with room left over. I love the shoulder sling where I can just pull it around my body to use the side zipper access to get to the camera.
Well made; comfortable; adequate space for an enthusiast; easy to rotate around the body and retrieve camera and gear
A solid base would be nice so it could be placed on the ground; I tried it with a tripod attached but it became too heavy and the tripod straps did not look capable of holding it for very long; I would prefer to forget the tripod and have a little more rucksack space to carry some lunch/water etc
I purchased a Lowepro Slingshot Edge 250 AW last fall. Now that I have been using it for a few months, here are my thoughts on it:
size; style; ease of access; secure
tripod holder has no bottom
This bag is made for amateur photographers. It has more space for things like ipad or stuff like that, only half of it its designed for photo equipment because the space for the camera its very small, only one small camera and maybe two small lenses...
The bag itself is great. I was looking for something with a slimmer profile while still being able to hold the items I need for walking around shooting. I was able to hold a Nikon D7100 with an attached 35mm, Tokina 11-20mm, Nikon 55-300mm, and the battery charger.
This was purchased as a Xmas gift for my husband. He is very pleased with it but commented it is difficult to work out how to wear it initially.
Comfortable Strap; Compact
Nice bag for city travel. Accommodated Sony A73 with platypod and ballhead along with filters, accessory batteries, WIFI node etc. I wish the gear pocket on top was slightly larger and might handle a light jacket or vest, but the small size of this bag was a blessing when walking Paris and...
I bought this bag as my Lumix G9 with 100-400 lens attached fits into the bottom section perfectly. Additionally I can fit binoculars plus a snack into the top section, while an iPad slides into the designated sleeve. That still leaves room for another lens.
