Xbox One X review: one for the 4K diehards

F our years after the launch of the original machine, Microsoft's Xbox One family is now finally complete. Although the Xbox One X has been hailed as the most powerful console ever made, it very much remains an Xbox One derivative, running all the same games and working with all the accessories with...

Xbox One X review: Great hardware, but where are the games?

Sharp design; powerful hardware; supported 4K HDR games look stunning

Expensive; lacks compelling exclusives; few enhanced games available at launch

Xbox One X review: Microsoft made a 4K mean machine

Microsoft said it was going to make the most powerful console in the world, and it has. This is a high-end games machine for those who want that extra oomph to their visuals, that consistency to their frame rates, and a full 4K media arsenal at their fingertips.

Xbox One X 4K UHD Review: One Monster of a Game Console

Microsoft's Xbox One X goes extremely far towards fulfilling the prmises made about it by Microsoft in recent months. This truly is a 4K ultra HD-capable platform with some tremendous power under the hood.

Overwhelming power boost for numerous games; including older Xbox titles; Native 4K HDR gaming fully supported; PC GPU-like graphics card; 4K UHD Blu-ray support; Compact and well built; Improves gaming on non-4K TVs

Xbox One X review

The first time I powered up the Xbox One X, I genuinely thought my house was falling down. Microsoft's boot-up animation is bright, loud, and full of surround sound bass, perfectly epitomizing the bombastic nature of the company's "true 4K" gaming message.

A lot of games will get a power boost; with support for Xbox; Xbox 360; and Xbox One titles; 4K Blu-ray drive; Small and well-designed hardware

You need external storage; 1TB isn't enough; Not enough exclusive 4K-enhanced games; The One S offers HDR and 4K Blu-ray support for less money

Microsoft has been playing catch-up with the PlayStation 4 ever since their ill-fated decision to center the Xbox One around the Kinect and always-online connectivity. That, combined with their inability to drum up high-quality exclusives, has had them behind the eight ball this cycle.

Hardware Review - 'Xbox One X'

Xbox One is Microsoft's all-in-one gaming and entertainment system that puts you at the center of all your games, TV, movies, music, sports and Skype.

As promised, the Xbox One X is the most powerful game console ever. In practice, though, it really just puts Microsoft on equal footing with Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro. 4K/HDR enhanced games look great, but it's lack of VR is disappointing in 2017.

Most powerful hardware ever in a home console; Solid selection of enhanced titles; 4K Blu-ray drive is great for movie fans

Expensive; Not worth it if you don't have a 4K TV; Still no VR support

Xbox One X: A beast of a console - at a price

If you're interested in 4K gaming, you'll almost certainly be reading several Xbox One X reviews today. They'll all tell you the same thing: the hardware is great but it's far too expensive, and the games library can't match that available to the Sony PS4 Pro.

Incredibly powerful; 4K games look great; 4K Blu-ray player included

Not enough 4K titles ready to play at launch; Expensive compared with PS4 Pro
