The Xbox One X: The Gizmodo Review

Here's a fact rarely discussed outside of super nerdy gaming circles. The guts of your video game console actually matter. Once upon a time games were designed to run the same on every console and, in some cases (like the massive multiplayer first person shooter Destiny 2 ), games are still designed...

Xbox One X Review – So Far, Pretty Good

I've had my hands on the Xbox One X for just over a week now. I'm not quite ready to lock in my final opinion so far, just due to the lack of new releases that are Xbox One X enhanced (at this stage), but I feel like I've spent enough time with the console to give solid impressions and help you...

Outstanding!

Traded up an original Xbox One for the X and I'm glad I did. The extra power is noticeable and the games look amazing on a 4K TV, even more so than a PS4 Pro. It's also smaller and quieter than the original with my only grumble being that at the cost I would have expected an elite controller to be...

Microsoft Xbox One X

If you have a 4K, HDR-capable TV and the Xbox One has lots of games you like, the Xbox One X is a worthy upgrade. It can take advantage of your TV in ways the One and One S can't, and has media playback features the PS4 Pro lacks.

Impressive performance for a console; Ultra HD Blu-ray; HDR and wide color gamut; Full Xbox One compatibility

Expensive; Games need to be updated to take advantage of the extra power; 4K resolution, HDR, and frame rates are inconsistent across games; No Dolby Vision

Xbox One X Review

The beastly Xbox One X is the best way to play console games.

Improves performance for all games; Xbox One X Enhanced games look and run amazing; 4K UHD Blu-Ray player; Sleek design; Very easy to use

4K recording options are limited; Timeliness of Xbox One Enhanced patches is unclear; Performance improvements can be unpredictable in non-Enhanced games

Xbox One X

As for the Xbox One X's 4K HDR Blu-ray drive, we tested it by playing Planet Earth II. The results were absolutely stunning – with incredible amounts of detail that are complemented by beautiful vibrant colors.

Great value for the amount of performance you're getting; Xbox One X enhanced games look and play brilliantly on a 4K HDR TV; comes with a 4K HDR Blu-ray drive; backward compatibility game catalog is quite large; sleek and compact design; improves the gaming experience on a 1080p TV too

Game files are large and you'll quickly fill up your hard drive

Microsoft's Xbox One X goes extremely far towards fulfilling the prmises made about it by Microsoft in recent months. This truly is a 4K ultra HD-capable platform with some tremendous power under the hood.

Overwhelming power boost for numerous games; including older Xbox titles; Native 4K HDR gaming fully supported; PC GPU-like graphics card; 4K UHD Blu-ray support; Compact and well built; Improves gaming on non-4K TVs

Xbox One X 1 TB Console - Black

I was unsure about spending the additional money when I already had an Xbox One. I bought it because of the special purchase that in basically included a free Red Dead game. The graphics are definitely much improved and I can't wait to play the newer games that are coming out.
