REVIEW: Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens Review

This super-zoom lens for Nikon DX format DSLRs covers a huge 7.8x zoom range, equivalent to 27-210mm on a 35mm camera. It sports silent internal focusing and Vibration Reduction.

Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX VR Nikkor review by tfewing

This is a great all-rounder for a D7000 or D7100. I have the 16-85mm, but sometimes I was needing more reach. This provides a very useful zoom range while staying light and compact.

Exceptional VR performance; fast & accurate focusing; and even sharpness through zoom range

Distortion typical for the genre.

I would recommend this as the lens of choice for the beginning photographer. It will do anything you are able to take until you go into areas requiring a special lens.

This has become my lens of choice; I have 21 Nikon lens, and the two competitors are a Nikkor 18-55mm F/3.5-f/5.6 AF-S Lens and a Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.0-f/5.6 ED AF-S, as well as macro and some prime lens; However, unless I am taking Marco photographs, this lens is what I use most of the time.

A little heavy at times and wish I had a better lens hood; Sometimes I would like a faster lens, but then I change to my 50mm f1.8

Nikon 18-140mm review

Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 VR DX ( DX coverage only, 67mm filters, 17.2 oz./487g, 1.5'/0.45m close focus, about $600 ). My biggest source of support is when you use any of these links , especially this link directly to it at Adorama or directly to it at Amazon , when you get anything , regardless of...

Won't work well on FX digital or 35mm cameras because the lens can't cover the entire image; On 35mm cameras the sides and corners are black, and FX cameras will mask-down their finder to cover less than half their usual area

Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 18-140mm F/3.5-5.6 Lens JAA819DB review

The Nikon 18-135mm was the only kit lens in Nikon's lineup that didn't feature VR image stabilization; the 18-140mm updates that, and adds a small bump in telephoto distance. The 18-140mm is not significantly better than the 18-135mm, other than including this technology, but I imagine from a...

The iPhone 14 isn't much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it's still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.
