This is an excellent little walkaround lens that gives good performance and sharpness plus VR. It all plastic but seems reasonably put together but I don't really like plastic mounts but for the price of this one I can forgive it. Recommended...

Sharp; fast focus,lightweight

Nikon professional user. This lens should be in your camera bag if you like simple blur-free photographs. The VR is superb. It is super-light and sharp. Fine on my D300 and D3100 cameras when I don't want to carry a heavy zoom and the results are perfect in good light conditions.

Used mainly on my D7000 and is reasonably quick on AF; little adjustment on manual focus so have to have very light touch to get spot-on. Good macro capability for a kit lens; I use mainly for landscapes. It delivers IQ of a quality close to something twice the price.

This item was purchased to replace an exact lens accidentally dropped whilst on holiday on Norfolk Island - (not good). This lens is an ideal size for close up and distance shots and takes exceptional photos. Item forms part of my kit with a D7000 camera.

Great versatile lens for beginners. I used mainly for candid and hobby shots when I would travel with my boyfriend or having an adventure with friends. I usually use a 50mm but when you want candid shots like taking photos of yourself with a friend the 50 zooms in too much!

Not as sharp as a prime

This is a good lens to take pictures only for the computer, but if you want to print them on paper, it fails. The sharpness is missing and clarity is not there.

Love this lens. The right zoom range, the right price and great performance. What else can you ask for The VR is pretty effective, I have taken a few sharp pictures at below 1/15 shutter speed. Would definitely recommend this one for anyone looking for an all-purpose lens which is not so expensive.

Awesome lens and lightweight...that's a real plus and what a great price. Will use this in place of my Nikon 18-200mm lens which while great is heavy. This 18-55mm lens was the one on my daughter's new Nikon D3200 and it performed flawlessly.
