Olympus 17mm: small but utterly forgettable.

Performance isn't in line with expectations of what a prime can deliver

underrated lens!

Nice, handy, and very mobile little lens, Oly's first offering in m43. Overshadowed by the Pany 20mm, it has nevertheless held its own and delivers equally great results. The only big con is that it's useless for video (very noisy).

The Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm f/2.8 Lens is a short barrelled, flat camera lens, also known as a pancake lens ideal for Micro Four Thirds cameras like Olympus Pen etc. The lens is a medium wide angle lens ideal for panoramic views and street photography.

Excellent design and build quality; great focus

Images not uniformly sharp and give less accurate results at the corners

Olympus 17mm f/2.8 M.Zuiko Digital review by Ocean

Don't know for whom is it good for. Not very sharp, not fast. Not my lens. At last, to pricey for the construction.

AF; f:2,8; cheap plastics, no hood

REVIEW: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/2.8 Pancake Lens Review

This compact pancake lens sports a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture and is compatible with all Micro Four Thirds cameras. The isn't equipped with in lens stabilisation ,which is typical for pancake lenses, but Olympus camera owners will be able to take advantage of their camera's in-body stabilisation...

Olympus 17mm f/2.8 M.Zuiko Digital

This is a nice little lens, great for street shooting. It's more than sharp enough in the center, a bit soft in the borders, but nothing terrible. The bokeh is nice and smooth, microcontrast is very good. Most important : this lens is a joy to use on m4/3 if you like 35mm FOV!

small; light; sharp center; contrast; nice bokeh

soft borders wide open; not fast enough; CA
