Im very much into super wide photography. Night sky, Milky Way, Sunsets/sunrise, you name it. The sharpness is very good. Great color and contrast. There is some serious distortion to deal with, but Lightroom has a Samyang Profile correction which knocks that out with a click.

As a serious amateur landscape photographer, I find this lens to be an excellent choice. It yields razor sharp imagery with extreme depth of field on my D800E. This lens is one of the best price to value propositions on the market today.

This is the second lens I received from Amazon after returning the first for the same issues (only this one may even be slightly worse). An excellant choice and surely better than canon or nikon at the same focal length as it maintain sharpness across the while frane range unlike others. Manual focus is a challenge specially at night when aiming at stars

I love the wide capability of this lens, although it can be tricky to tell if things are in focus even with an external monitor. I have used it to shoot a music video in some abandoned castles and Ireland and it worked perfectly for some creepy shots and haunted effects.

Though can't autofocus and has quite a strong barrel distortion, BUT ITS ultra wide and SUPER sharp. Great for astronomy and landscape photography! Good solid build
