this lens is better than the canon's 35mm 1.4L, period. it's sharper across the aperture range, focuses just as fast (if not a tiny bit faster), the build quality feels great. i've owned the canon 35L and had both at the same time before letting the L glass go.

This lens is just a pleasure to shoot with, and gives your pictures a unique look that just makes you smile. I'm sure you've read a ton of other reviews that talk about its sharpness, and I'm telling you they weren't exaggerating.

Terrific lens. It has a a character which is not found in zoom or standard lenses. It replaced my Nikon 24-70 2.8 and the results are so much better. This lens output is on par with the legendary Pentax FA31 Ltd. Autofocus is consistent and the 3D tracking works great on my Nikons D700 and D810.

What a lens, everything the reviews say, brilliant, hope sigma keep coming up with stuff like this.

I had high hopes for this lens on Sony FE mount, since I've owned the Sigma Art lenses on Nikon cameras and never had a single problem. However, the 35mm Art for Sony FE had major AF issues right out of the box, I had to return it for an exchange, in hope that I had a defect one.

Overall, not a bad thing can be said about Sigma ‘ s 35mm f1.4 EX. The company surely put a lot of time and effort into the design and it ‘ s worth every penny. The lens is sharp as a razor, a relative speed-demon when it comes to focusing, and has some beautiful image quality.
